Rumor update

A new Gaurdians of the Galaxy Proposal instead of ToT has been presented. GotG will go into RnRc after the Aerosmith farewell tour in 2017. You will zoom through while seeing scenes from the movie.

RnRC has always been wildly out of place so it won't be as much of an impact. I wonder about the sound track. The ride has always been at least partially about music.

A decent part of the GotG movie is the Mix Tape he receives from his mother in the beginning. There's some really great potential there with some classic favorites. You can probably find a playlist on YouTube if you haven't seen the movie.

That section of the park is interesting from a theme perspective. As the rest of the park moves to being organized by "lands" I do wonder how they tie this together. Everything over there aside from Rock-n-Roller Coaster has this "Old Hollywood" feel (Brown Derby, the shops, ToT) -- RnR/Aerosmith doesn't really "fit" with this theme. If they want it to be cohesive the question becomes do they change it to a new land and re-theme both rides or do they try and find a way to make RnR fit the "old hollywood" theme....maybe old hollywood meets new hollywood? Giving it a Marvel overlay doesn't help that area become a more cohesive piece of the park...unless you retheme all of it to Marvel...which unless they stick with GoG only they don't really have the ability to do.

It wouldn't need to remain in "Old Hollywood". They could "re-route" the entrance to be through what is now back stage areas and the animation courtyard area to construct a new "land."

I don't know. It makes a lot more sense to retheme RnRc than it does ToT. Just change the things you pass by on the coaster and it's rethemed. That's pretty easy for Disney.

I've always loved RnRc but it'not a timeless masterpiece like ToT. I'd be fine with a retheming and would be excited to see what they would do with it.

Agreed. And it also sounds like it will probably improve the ride. It's never been a 5 star coaster for me. If it was at a Six Flags it would just be one that I do if I have time. The theming i awful, so if they take this change to actually put some cool effects and things to look at instead of neon cardboard it would be awesome.

It's also extremely possible to separate Tower of Terror and the new RNC from each other through lands, and let Tower of Terror remain in Hollywood land or whatever they decide to call it. If you change ToT to anything, you'd basically have to change the whole street.

That's a million dollar question right now. I think that's something they are really looking at.

I'm thinking Pandora will already be open by the time they are ready to re-theme RnRc. If that's the case, perhaps they are hoping that the opening of Pandora will alleviate the attendance of DHS. It doesn't change the fact that 2/3 of the park will still be under construction, but at least guests will be able to go somewhere else.

A Guardians re-theme for Rock 'n' Roller makes more sense. The film is a lot about the music. I just wonder if the whole space/sci-fi theme would become really over-used throughout the park once Star Wars opens.

By the time Star Wars land opens you're going to think fondly of the days when Disney were restrained and just used Frozen theming on a handful of items in each park.

The next few years will be interesting for sure. But just think about it. Even Toy Story land will have its own space themed attraction with the green aliens.
