Main Street Electrical Parade to stay Spectromagic leaving.

When I was down 2 weeks ago met up with Old High school friend who lives down their and has some friends who work at WDW. Told Me MSEP will be run through Sept of next year and Spectromagic will return for 40th Anniversary.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE - Bring back Spectromagic. This is my favorite parade.:worship: I hope it is true. I really miss it. The MSEP is okay, but Spectromagic :thumbsup2!

We've seen both, and while it was nice to see MSEP like I did when I was a kid, I really prefer Spectro

Disney resurrect Light Magic and bring it to WDW? God knows, it could get worse. I love both parades and enjoy them equally.

Not that this means a thing, but:

The new "free" Travel DVD (the one based off the Memories promo) specifically mentions MSEP as being the parade at the Magic Kingdom.

I'm assuming they wouldn't mention it, by name, unless they're planning on it being "the parade" for a while.

We did the Keys tour in early Dec. and Spectro floats were still sitting in a warehouse near Splash Mt. covered up, but you could see enough to know it was the floats from Spectro. Our guide mentioned it as being a rumor that floats were headed to Paris, then she laughed, and pointed them out to us. Not saying this couldnt be true, but it was what it was at the moment:confused3

I maybe the odd man out here but I love MSEP, It brought back childhood memories. Spectro is a very well done prade too, I did the Keys tour last October and the question was asked about Spectro. Our guide said its going to stay in storage till next year and they will either keep it at WDW or send it off to DL. She was admint it is going to stay in the USA.

IMHO...I doubt the parade could it make it's way around the DL parks. The floats are too long.

Oh, I hope Spectro comes back sooner than later.

The music from MSEP drives me crazy. Even the kids don't want to see it again. ah well, at least while it's there I'll get to ride attractions while everyone else watches that parade. :-)

I am so excited to get to see this parade. I have picture of the parade when my mom visited DL back in 1975. I use to look at the pics all the time growing up. Its where my love of Mickey started. It will be so neat to tell her, I saw it too.

Ok. We just got back from a 9 day trip and we were in MK twice during MSEP. We sat and watched it once.

Now I'll admit the I had never seen MSEP before so I had no emotional ties to it.

Please bring back Spectro. In my opinion there's no comparison. The floats and music are so much better in Spectro.

Just my opinion. Just like my wife says all the time. Opinions are like xxxholes - everyone has one. This is mine.

I had no connection to MSEP and actually had a bit deeper connection to spectrotragic since I had a friend who performed in it. However, after I saw MSEP at the CM preview, I couldn't believe how much more fun it is. It's so upbeat, it gets the crowd involved, it's great! Spectro music is sssooo boring!
just my opinion of course

MSEP should be in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. The parade was created for this park and should be a permanent fixture. I think it was nice that it has toured all over the world at various Disney parks, but having it stay in Walt Disney World seems fitting to an old timer like me :woohoo:

Don't think that's quite right. MSEP showed for the first time at DLR in 1972 and had it's first WDW showing in 1977.

MSEP is nice and retro and all, but Spectro is a superior parade. That said, I don't really care about the parades.

DH and I have seen both parades, and I have to say the Spectro was the better of the two.

DS saw Spectro when we took him for his first trip and he loved it. He made us watch it 3 times while we were there (twice in one night).

DD saw MSEP and really didn't like it. It is the only thing that she was disappointed about through the whole trip. By the time the last couple of floats came around, she was asking when we could go on rides.

I really hope they bring back Spectro when we go back after the expansion is complete; or have a new parade as long as it is not MSEP since we won't sit through that one again.

Yea! This is great news. I love the MSEP. It has been a favorite of mine since it first came to WDW many many years ago.

Different strokes you know. My kids love MSEP and have ever since they saw it a few years ago at DCA. I also prefer MSEP, mostly because I love the music.

From Al Lutz, " (The return of the Electrical Parade floats next year is the wild card, as varying proposals to slot it back in to either DCA or Disneyland’s daily entertainment roster are currently being floated around, pardon the pun)"

This is from the section titled "Morning Mouse"
http://miceage.micechat.com/allutz/al062111a.htm

Granted Al Lutz is only about %40 correct and only %10 of that being "news" to anyone that follows DLR.
