Main Street Electrical Parade to stay Spectromagic leaving.

I happen to like the main street electical parade. I have the original song on my ipod but it's not the same as seeing it in person. . Im hoping it will be there in december when i go with my family. we are thinking of also going to mickey's not so scary halloween but will need to buy tickets and i have no idea how much they cost. would like to see MSEP atleast one more time before they send it off to another park.

Oh good- I am not the only one with MSEP on my iPod. Actually, I have three versions... the They Might Be Giants one is kind of fun!

Well that makes at least three of us with MSEP on our iPods. If I'm being objective, Spectro is the better parade. However, I much prefer MSEP for the music and the floats. That's some original WDW mojo right there.

I'm torn. I grew up with MSEP, as a kid I loved the parade, the music, everything. In 2008 I went back for the first time in 20 years as a mom on my childrens first ever trip to Disney World, and I loved Spectro. We went again in 2010, and I was soooo thrilled MSEP would be there Here it was.... my chance to relive those childhood moments of sitting in the dark, and hearing that electronic voice anouncing the parade just before all the music and lights kicked in. But sadly enough, it just didn't feel the same, and I kinda wished SpectroMagic was there instead. My kids didn't care for it either. It might have been because my children's first exciting parade moment in Disney was with Spectro ... and that gave them their special memory feeling. Maybe it had become mine too as a mom, and MSEP has now faded in my special memory department

MSEP is Disneyland's parade. They had it first. It should be sent back there.

It was great to see it again during Summer Nightastic. I enjoy it, but it's proper place is out in California.

Spectro is WDW's parade. It was developed for WDW, and the less whimsical, grander music fits the atmosphere, and feel in Florida, better. It's not a clone of something from Disneyland. It belongs in WDW. Bring it back!

Well, I just returned from the World and was thrilled to be able to see the MSEP once more. Now, I have a lot of experience with both parades. I saw the first Spectro parade when it debuted and the first showing of the MSEP when it returned in 1999. I've been going to the World since 1982 and have had magical moments with both. Having said that.....my heart belongs to the MSEP. There is an innocence and whismy about it that is missing from Spectro. Spectro has a dark side to it that has frightened my children when they were babies, and I agree....the dudes at the beginning creep me out! I love you MSEP!! Will hate to see you leave!!

I’m so torn about either loving Spectro or MSEP, I like Spectromagic because it was the nightly parade for two trips and elaborate floats, I like MSEP because of tis retro feel and I love the music.
Let’s compare the two parades: Spectro’s floats are more elaborate and have more special effects such as Tinker Bell flying into a window, the smoke cannons, or the volcano transforming into Chernbog. The only downside is that the floats are smaller and bunched together in Spectro
In MSEP have larger and more whimsical floats; the whole Cinderella unit is breathtaking and fits in with WDW’s Magic Kingdom, and Pete’s Dragon has to be the coolest float in the parade, even if most of the guests watching have never seen the movie. The only downside is that some of the effects are simple and the Bicentennial finale feels a bit dated.
Now how about the characters, in Spectro you have mix of recent characters like Ariel and older characters like The 3 little Pigs, and their costumes change from all white to color, the only newer character in MSEP is Tinker Bell and some of the same characters from Spectro appear in MSEP, but they don’t wear light up clothing.

In the end I would like to say I enjoy both parades equally.

Totally understand the nostalgia feeling some people get with MSEP, because, MY nostalgia feeling is from Spectro. It was the parade I saw on my first trip to WDW and the parade on DS's first trip to WDW. I was very upset to hear it was sent away and really hoped it would be back for our upcoming trip in Nov. I have seen pics and a video my brother took of MSEP, I can't say I'm looking forward to it, but, am willing to see it, at least once. I will miss Spectro this year! Maybe it will be back by our next trip.

I literally had to stop listening to this song on my way to work. It was right around the "million stars" part that I'd start getting teary eyed and by the time I got to work my eyes were always red and puffy. I can only blame allergies so much lol

Took a backstage tour very recently and saw the Spectro floats, still there. Guide says they're being refurbed and will be back at MK one of these days. The Ursula float was undergoing some kind of work, most of the rest were under tarps.

Has anyone heard that Spectro is coming back this summer. I heard it from someone, but can't find info on it yet
