To be honest I had low expectations for the MSEP, but I decided to catch the second showing on Friday 8/5 before I left the park because I could walk right up to a front row spot just before it started. It turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip!
The twinkling lights are really beautiful and there were heaps more floats than I expected. The snails/turtles actually made me laugh out loud with delight because I had no idea they could spin super fast and that they made such ridiculous noises! The sound track was also kind of fun and matched the vintage vibe.
I was lucky enough to interact with most of the characters and floats, perhaps because it was late and I wasn't filming the whole time. In response to my greetings of various kinds, some of the snails zoomed right up to me and gave me little head bobs, Cinderella asked me to twirl for her and I got curtseys, waves, blown kisses etc. It felt really special even as an adult and was such a lovely way to finish off my Disneyland vacation.
I know the MSEP isn't on for much longer, but I would highly recommend it for a bit of vintage magic.
