I did a search in restaurants and couldn't find anything about Main St. Confectionery in Magic Kingdom.

I told my Grandchildren we would be going to Goofy's Candy Shop after lunch our first day, January 2. I just read there is a Christmas Parade that day. It is the last day for the parade. Because of possible time restraints I am thinking of eating in the Magic Kingdom and taking the kids to get candy at the Main St. Confectionery.

Can anyone tell me about it? Anyone have pictures? How are the prices? Is there candy that would interest children there, not just chocolates and such?
Our two youngest still like childrens candy.

Thank You Fellow Disboarders!

You are looking at one of my favorite Disney Memories! DS made this candy stick at the Main Street Confectionary summer 07. The only "build your own" item there. It was great fun and basically a big tube of sugar. He is not a big fan of sweets, but this had a little sour kick to it. It was too much for him to eat, but he had fun looking through the store and choosing this stick, then choosing how he would layer it. The best part was when we noticed that it had turned his tongue this wonderful shade of blue!
Also, last year we went to MK, the day they taped the Christmas Parade for the Christmas Day Show. (I'm not sure if it is the same parade, but the one we saw was wonderful - but we had to see it in parts, because they would pause and restart for the taping - it would be nice to see it in one go!) We had tickets to be on the parade route. You had to be at MK by 6 or 7am that morning and commit to staying put for the entire taping - Several HOURS, we also had tickets to the stage taping to take place later in the day. We decided to sleep in a little and arrive at regular park opening. So we did not stand on the parade route (and so did not get on the Christmas Day Parade Show) We got a lot of great shots of the parade starting in Liberty Square. We had lunch on the terrace at Cosmic Rays and listened to Miley Cyrus perform, then we went down to the stage area and were placed almost at the stage. We watched a little of the performance. This was last Christmas, DS was 9 and was "over" Miley Cyrus so we didn't watch her performance for long. It was a great day, the parade was really fun and I would definitely suggest this for you and your grandkids, particularly since you would be seeing it in one "take"!

Thanks skunk, I appreciate it! It looks like the candy shop at the BoardWalk Inn.

You too Jennipooh. Thanks for the pictures . Your son is really cute. I Love the freckles across his nose. He is going to be a heart breaker in about 6 years!

I have a ton of pictures in my November thread that is in my signature...it is just like Goofys at DTD and similar but not identical to the one at the BWI
