Main Street Bakery Question

I would just like to hear some opinions about breakfast here. We've eaten at the Boardwalk Bakery for breakfast, and, unfortunately, were unimpressed. However, the smell when you walk by the shop on Main Street is wonderful (but I've heard that the smell is actually "pumped out" of the store -- Disney magic, I guess). Is it crowded in the morning, or is everyone rushing to get to the rides?

Any opinions would be great. Thanks!

I always get a cinnamon bun. They are soooo good - of course, I think that is part of the Disney magic too - there's something about sitting staring at the castle and eating a cinnamon bun that makes it tase even better! I really don't even know what else they have as my mind is always made up before I go in! I have never walked in, always a line.

Another vote for the cinnabuns!! I had one on my DS's first trip and my grandmothers last. :(

I had never had one before, but it was a tradition of her and my grandfather to get one before hitting any rides and split it w/a cup of tea. It is a day at the MK, I will never forget!!! We shared our love of Disney together and to be able to spend her last trip with her at both of our favorite place..it means a lot to me..

There is always a line first thing in the AM. Cinnamon buns, French toast loaf and croissants have always been delicious.

We ate breakfast there one morning in September, on the dining plan. Line was INSANE. We got a cinnamon bun (it looked better than it was :( ), quiche, chocolate cake (yes, cake for breakfast. My 6 y/o wouldn't choose anything but, so being in Disney and all, we just sucked it up and went with it! :goodvibes ), yogurt parfait (good, but a little too tart for my tastes!) and FRENCH TOAST LOAF....OMG....This was the absolute best!!! We should have skipped all the other stuff and just got 4 or 5 slices of that! :rotfl:

On the DP, we were allowed to get two items and a drink. I think we also got an orange that morning. My oldest only wanted one item and a drink, so the cashier rang his up as two snacks and saved us the counter service credit. I thought that was pretty nice!

We used to have a tradition of getting our hair cut at the MK Barbarshop first thing in the morning and then going over to the bakery for a homemade ice cream sandwich! They're wonderful, but be sure to bring an empty stomach and a tolerance for super-sweet breakfasts!

The MK bakery is way better then the boardwalk one. The lines can get really long in the morning but it moves quickly. I always get the cinnamon bun, even though I can never eat more than a few bites. It's sooo good!

Main Street Bakery is much better than Boardwalk Bakery. We had the cinnabuns, egg sandwiches, krispy kremes, and french toast loaf. The french toast loaf is out of this world! Definitely give it a try.

Sounds good, everybody. Thanks for your opinions. I think we'll be trying it one morning when we aren't in such a rush to get to Fantasyland for my two younger cousins.

Glad to hear it's better than the Boardwalk Bakery. That one has disappointed us one too many times for us to try again.

Does anyone know how long they serve breakfast? Everyone's talking about the french toast loaf, so I was wondering how long we have in the morning to get it.

We love the bakery! I usually get a blueberry muffin and my DS gets a warm chocolate chip cookie. DH varies what he gets - he likes to try new things. I think this time I'll be trying the french toast loaf. :thumbsup2

It can be crowded first thing in the morning but the line moves very quick. We always have to get French Toast at least a couple of times on every trip. It is so nice to get a table outside and just relax for a few minutes first thing in the morning. The Magic Kingdom is so magical in the morning.

We ate at Main Street Bakery for the first time this last trip; had breakfast there on Feb 2nd somewhere around 10:30 or so ... MK opened at 8am and we did Fantasyland and Tomorrowland before eating. They had the most incredible ham/egg/cheese croissants! I don't usually care for croissants as many are greasy, but these were fantastic and fresh. Also had the french toast loaf which was great. Took our food to the tables on the lower level by the water looking at the Castle. We were the only ones there! (which was good, because that's the smoking area and we are not smokers; my friend was a first timer and didn't know that and we didn't want to hurt her feelings by moving). Highly recommend MSB for breakfast! BTW, we took the Keys to the Kingdom tour and they no longer pump the smell out onto Main Street; they used to and stopped because someone thought it might be bad environmentally, I guess.

OH your all making me hungry for a big Cinnamon Bun and piece of carrot cake. That is a tradition in our family now while watching the afternoon parade on main street. When ever we go in, there's always a line but it does go fast. To be actual everytime I go by it, there's a line up. Never been to the Boardwalk one and have never heard anything big about it either.

When my mother and I went two years ago, one our first day, we bought one of those ENORMOUS rice crispie treats (in the shape of a large mickey head) from the bakery. It cost $10.50 I think and it lasted us the whole week. We would each take a chunk (in a bag) into the park and munch on it in line as our breakfast, or whenever we needed some sugar shock.

I gotta throw in a vote for the fabulous cheese danish (well, yes, I am from Wisconsin...) Seriously my partner seldom eats ANY type of danish and this has become a "got to have or else" on our visits to MK. I've tried the french loaf and the yogurt parfait and loved them both.

Can you get stuff like the french toast loaf at the Main Street Bakery all day or do you have to get it first thing in the morning?
