has anyone ever mailed packages from the hotel to home?
we are going to do WDW/cruise in late Oct. We have 4 nights at Poly prior to 4 night cruise. My concern is if DS (turning 5 on cruise) wants to get a toy that is bigger or in a box, how am I going to get it from hotel/cruise/airport/home all in one piece. Space is tight on board ship, and limited on plane. I hate for him to not be able to pick a present he really likes, and I know grandma has disney dollars saved up for him. Can you mail/ship from hotel? is it a pain...is it expensive? (we would be sending it to PA)
thanks for any info...

we have let the stores send for us. They dont charge you tax which helps off set the shipping charge a little too. They package it and mail it and I think it took a few weeks to get our stuff. Good thing is if it breaks in shipping they will replace it too. Plan to get your purchase all in one place that you plan to ship because teh ship charge will add up. They use to charge based on cost of the item. Up to a certain dollar amount shipped for this parice (I want to say it was around $8 or $10 when we did it) But the saving of tax dollars made it a little cheaper.

yes i say have the stores ship for you..its soo easy, you don't have to lug it back to your hotel and that way when you get home, you get a little "gift" in the mail after a week or so. We did this on our last trip and it worked great, we loaded up at MouseGears in Epcot and sent everything home :)
Have a great trip!:goodvibes

they used to charge a flat fee i think it was $12.95 but last year they switched companies and shipping stuff home increased in price by the value of the product.

thanks for the info...
I figured shipping would be high, but if it eases the trip it is worth it.

stores in WDW ship pricing is according to total spent.that could really add up

Take the toy to one of the buisness centers and have it shipped from there. Much Much less
example : bought a few pirate pin sets at store to ship home was going to be 32.00 just for these little boxes of pins ( 15 wallet size boxes), but went to business center and sent a 28lb package home with mulitple items ( 4 jackets, pins, christmas tree ornaments etc) they boxed it for me and sent it ups ...total cost 8.00

I used the one at the Coronado Springs , also believe there are centers at the contemp, beach club , boardwalk GF, Yacht club swan and dolphin (not disney owned) ,

thanks, I will be checking these out prior to leaving...if I can save money on shipping it will be a blessing !!

I stayed at the Poly. I was told the gift shop would ship all Disney merchandise. I saved all my store purchases during the week and kept all my receipts together - they need the receipts to ship. Then I went to my gift shop at the resort to have them ship it. Unfortunately the could not ship - they have to be actual disney merchandise with actual disney barcodes to scan - so our (very large!) purchases from the Lego store at DTD could not be shipped. I was a little frustrated. The giftshop did however find a big box, packed my items and sent me to the front desk. There they just entered my information in the computer and shipped my package off the same via UPS, I was only charged actual UPS rates and given the slip with the UPS tracking number. UPS includes insurance up to $200. So it all worked out, my package arrived within a week. Hope this makes sense. If you are planning to ship, maybe take a little roll of packing tape because they did not have good tape, I run an ebay business so I am fussy about shipping supplies LOL.
