Hi all. I know this has been covered here before but I haven't been able to access search fnct for a few days now. I've read about mailing diapers, wipes, coffee, etc. to the resort prior to arrival & was wondering if people have had success w/this and if so, what they pre-sent & if it was worth the cost. I checked out pricing on UPS website & it would cost about $17 to mail a 35 lb. (just a random guess at the wt.) pkg to the Dolphin via UPS Ground (6 days). There are more costly, faster options at UPS than Ground but I don't really think its nec. (?) I was thinking of mailing the above items & a small stroller- am I crazy for entrusting diapers & stroller to a postal service??? I called the Dolphin & they said to incl. my name, date of arrival & conf. no. on the mailing label & they would hold it for my arrival. They also mentioned that they would mail items back home if I wanted for the cost of UPS S&H plus $4/box handling fee to Dolphin but they would handle pick up etc. We're flying w/2 small kids, carseats, diaper bags etc. and the mailing option seems like it would make things a lot easier. Has anyone done this? What did you pre-send? Any suggestions/experiences greatly appreciated!

We sent a box with a table top Christmas tree, decorations for the room, presents, and othert hings that just wouldn't quite fit in the bags via UPS ground. I used the online site to figure out when to send it, and how much it would cost. I could pay for it online, print the shipping mailer with the bar code, and just drop it off at the UPS pick-up location where I work. We checked in at the Boardwalk after 10:00 p.m. on arrival, and the CM told us it would be available in the morning for pick up. We got out early that first morning, and when we returned to the room, it had been delivered and was waiting for us. There was no additional charge. We brought along another bag for souveniers that we could also fit the little tree and things into when we headed home. I think I might take advantage of the return shipping next time to lighten the load going home.

Reeanna,
Hope you have a good trip. I will be at PO June 12-23, 2004. Let me start off by saying that I have worked for UPS for 20 years. That aside, On my first trip to Disney with wife and 2 young daughters in 2001 I sent a package to arrive when we got there. I sent items such as cereal, granola bars, crackers, pringles, peanut butter& jelly(dry goods). The money I saved was well worth the cost of UPS shipping. Believe it or not when you are sending a package that is heavier than 3 pounds it is less expensive to ship UPS than the Post Office. UPS will also give you the ability to track your package as well as provide a money back guarantee if it is not delivered on time. Please email me if you need help or any additional info.

We shipped food to AKL this past July. Even though we had a rental car and could go shopping we shipped snacks we knew were save for our DD who is allergic to peanuts and nuts. Unfortunately we spent a little more with USPS but it was more convenient for us. It was behnind the front desk when we arrived. Suggestion, if you are having any meals, breakfast, etc in your room throw some plasticwear in the box too. We had to go to 3 stores before we could find plastic spoons, knives and never could find plastic bowls. DD & DS ate cereal out of cups!

Making your travel load lighter is definitely worth the extra cost! Have fun.
