Hi-

How do I go about mailing a package to myself for our trip? I'd like to send baby formula, diapers, food, juice boxes, etc... to our room at POR, as I am traveling with four kids. Will they just accept the box at the front desk? Is it a problem if I mail to too early?

Some have mentioned online shopping services. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I would start with your local UPS store, or mailboxes etc. There is a place on the site to get the delivery address.

In the past we have shipped our dirty laundry home, we had to have our souvenirs on the plane with us. We used UPS and it worked great, saved a bunch of room in our suitcases and was well worth what it cost.

Everything arrived home - still dirty though!!

I hope this helps.

:laughing:this is too funny!!!

I want to ship myself a package also, diapers, snacks, sippy cups etc. disposable stuff I need when I get down there, but won't have to bring back or pay a fortune for while there, and the regular US postal services have those flat rate boxes as long as it's under 70 lbs "if it fits it ships" I tink the cost for the largest box is $17.00 (not bad)

I *think* I read on the Pop FAQ page that the front desk will hold packages for 2 weeks. It also had an address to mail the package to. I would assume it is the same for POR. Look for a POR FAQ page on the resort board. :goodvibes

Other threads have advised people to use UPS or FedEx rather than the U.S. Postal Service. If you ship to the resort using the Postal Service, your package will go to some central receiving location, and it takes much longer to get it to your resort. If you use UPS or FedEx, your package will go directly to your resort.

Other threads also have talked about fees now being charged by the resorts when you ship a package there. These fees seem to be limited to the resorts which have convention centers. Since POR does not have a convention center, you should be okay... unless the policy has changed and other resorts also start charging this fee.

The online shopping services mentioned most often are Garden Grocer (you choose from the items they offer, although you can add to their list) and WeGoShop (you make up your own grocery list). You can find lots of threads for these, now that you know the names.

Our youngest was 6 months when we travelled in April. We used diapers.com and shipped directly to Pop Century. Shipping was free with $50 or moreon diapers.com and we got a great value and great convenience by having formula, diapers, wipes, disposable bibs and solids when we got there. Cast members helpedus bring our two big boxes to our room when we checked in and found them waiting for us.
