When I was little, my mom planned a trip up north so we could all see snow. We went to New Hampshire for two weeks, guess what happened... No snow. The last day we saw a little left over snow on the ground, enough to make a snowball! I was the happiest kid on earth!

I figure that would be our luck. We will plan a nice trip to see snow, and there will be a unexpected warm front!

This is from when I was in 6th grade (I think):

On January 19, 1977, Old Man Winter paid an unwelcomed visit to residents of Miami, Florida (yes, Florida, not Ohio) and brought along a surprise gift -- snow! For the first time in the history of the extreme south of Florida, snow danced through the air and dusted the ground briefly. A quarter century later, the scene has not been repeated.
