I am looking for ideas for our door sign. I know this question has been asked before, but I need help. Any web sites with icons or samples would be most helpful. Thank you.

you can type door signs in search and you will find several threads on this subject.

I used items from my scrapbooking, found a cruise ship, adding photos of myself, DH and DD along with our cruising dates and ship name.

We are planning our first cruise in April 2006 - what is the deal with the door decorations?? This looks like fun.

Do you just attach pictures/text to magnet sheets??

Very interested in doing this.

Thanks.

Gretchen,
Stores like Office Max sell magnetic paper for your computer's printer. It's plain paper on one side, and the entire back side is magnetic. After you make your sign on the computer, you feed the paper in one sheet at a time.

Thank you for the info.
This sounds like so much fun.
I can't wait!!! I will have to start coming up with ideas.

Thanks again!!

What is the deal with the door signs. DO you make your own and then just put them on your door
or do you have to go throughthe cruise line?

You make your own as the doors to your room are metal. I use print shop 20. There are several programs you can use even MS word or Excell or powerpoint, etc...

Here is the door sign I made for our January cruise. I did this in MS Publisher and printed it on magnetic paper. Have fun. Let me know if you need any help.

We found packages of magnetic sheets at Big Lots. Cheaper than Office Depot or even Wal Mart. Also comes with a CD with Disney characters. Click here...Big Lots ..to find the nearest store to you.

I have paint shop but can't figure out how to write on the picture! If anyone has any ideas, please let me know!

I don't think the quesiton, WHAT'S THE DEAL W/ THESE SIGNS, has been answered. The door signs esp. w/ the lime green mickey heads (paint samples from Home Depot) are for other DISers to say, hey, another fellow Diser! The signs make it a little easier to find your stateroom. Some DISers' even play tag w/ a magnetic green mickey head while cruising. Plus they make a nice memory maker when you get home. I didn't think our door sign would be such a big deal until we got home and the cruise was over.

My sister made mickey heads similar to the paint chips, and I put them on my Photoshop and added text. Of course, I could not figure out how to add the clip art I found, so I had to save everything as a jpeg and e-mail it to her so she was able to finish. I then pasted it into a word document and printed on a magnetic sheet. We made them small enough so they would all fit on one sheet. We used the same picture, and put one person's name on the left ear, and "Wonder" and the date of sailing on the right ear. We figured they would be good souveniers.

Hi all:wave:
Here is another example of a magnetic page that I will cut out the ears and cruise emblem and then store them for the cruise.. Had to save as a jpeg to post so not very clear after scanning it in.

As stated it helps to identify your room and other DISer's on your cruise. And shows how crazy you are too.

I love that idea! I would have never thought about placing personalized Disney magnets on the door. My family will have a fantastic time creating the magnets.

Thanks for the idea!

Thank you taeja71 for going back and answering my question.
So this is more a DIS Board thing. I love it!!!

This is already on my list to do along with all the other little tidbits I have learned. I thought I was Disney (WDW) addicted, but I see a Disney Cruise addiction not far behind.

Thanks.

Here are a couple signs I've made.
