The Magiqust wands that are sold at Great Wolf Lodge - where is the best/cheapest place to purchase them? Once purchased, can they be used at ANY Magiquest place? There are a couple of places nearby us that have MAgiquest & if I purchase the wand there can I use it at Great Wolf Lodge and vice versa?
Thanks!

MagiQuest wands work at any MagiQuest location, with the possible exclusion of DinoQuest in Santa Ana, CA. The wand has a computer chip inside that stores your game status, so you can return to MagiQuest and pick up where you left off.

I personally have been to the Myrtle Beach, SC MagiQuest (which is the "official" location, as it was the first built, and features the entire game), and the Williamsburg, VA location. Williamsburg is a Great Wolf Lodge location, and includes about half of the gameplay options that Myrtle Beach has (as far as I know, all of the GWLs have limited versions of the game). When I went to Williamsburg, their staff told me that my gameplay from Myrtle Beach would be erased from the wand to make room for the new data at this location. However, I went back to Myrtle Beach a few months later, and my Myrtle Beach gameplay was still saved.

So to break it down, say you played 10 quests at Williamsburg, and then decided to go to the Poconos. The 10 quests from Williamsburg would stay on your wand, but couldn't be used in the Poconos game. You would start over in the Poconos. But if you went back to Williamsburg AFTER the Poconos, you would pick up on the 11th quest there.

The wands are built to save your game memory no matter where you go, but the game has different features in different locations, so the data can't be saved across the board.

P.S. - If you want more information on MagiQuest, check out Tocpe's MaqiQuest Domain at mqdomain.co.nr

We have used our wands at two different GWL locations. They were great in that they had the same "magi name" stored on it from our first trip, so it was a neat reminder from the fun they had before.
If they had any previous game on them, the cashier erased it. I thought they said the wand would only work for 24 hours after the length of your visit, so maybe they automatically erase?

I repeat - They DO NOT erase the game data from your wand. Unless you beat the entire game in Myrtle Beach or something, and there's not enough space on the memory chip to save the new game data (which I've never known to happen).

If you go to MQ location #1, play for an hour, and complete 4 quests, it saves to your wand. Then you go to MQ location #2, and you have to start the game over, because the game data is different at each location. However, when you go back to MQ location #1, you pick up where you left off the last time you were there. Your game stats are NOT erased from your original visit to MQ location #1. They are just saved individually for each location.

I went back and checked with the game gurus on MQDomain .co .nr and they provided some additional information. Your game data is actually not physically saved on your wand. It's a bit complicated to someone who's not technically-savvy, but essentially, the system involves a chip in your wand communicating with MQ servers when it is used to cast. When you enter an MQ location, they scan your wand, and it pulls the data from the servers.

However, as stated before, the game data cannot be transferred from location to location. Your game data from Myrtle Beach will be saved on their servers, and will come back up the next time you visit Myrtle Beach.
