Magicians & Jugglers & a Clown Slide, OH MY! We're going to the BWI... A Nov 2010 PTR

Great pix Shelly - those cupcakes look yummy! Your son looks really happy about those gift cards. :cool1:

Your DS looked like he really was enjoying himself on this birthday, time sure does fly by , seems like yesterday you were bringing your baby home from the hospital right?

As for DTD I don't remember if we ate down there when it was the Village MarketPlace sure we did , I know we have done Planet Hollywood 2X once I had this lasagna roll which was great.

Last year we ended up doing McDonalds since we had no ADR and everything was full the night we were there

I have a ressie for T-Rex but if I go with the option 2 plan I am now working on for our park days , I will either need to call to get a later time or change the day/night we eat there. My DS(40) really wants to eat there he still likes dinosaurs :rotfl:

I have read some good things about Wolf Gang Pucks Express and I want to try the bacon wrapped meatloaf, we went there many years ago when they first put it in with the change over from the Mktplace to DTD and we were not expressed we had all gotton personal pizza that time and never went back since.

Just today I was reading about Earl of Sandwich having this special "Holiday" Sandwich with Turkey, dressing, cranberries and gravy, which everyone was raving about and it does sound good. The time I flew Song(Delta) they had chef specials on the plane you could buy and I had a sandwich like that which was incredible, best thing I ever had to eat on a plane---so right now I am weighing the DTD options not sure if we will stick with T-Rex or go CS maybe:confused3

I had a ressie for Fulton's Crab House , but cancelled, I have wanted to eat there since back when they use to have a breakfast there(back then it was named the LillyBelle I think) and I made a ressie and we got there late so never went, but since DS wanted to go to T-Rex I made that one instead.

While reworking my park schedules I even thought of maybe skipping DTD this trip since this is a short trip for us, who knows, all I know for sure is it is hard traveling with your adult children at times :rotfl2:

daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang.
yes, said just like that, only with a bit of a twang.

That's what I said when I realized I didn't comment on your DTD dining.

:confused3

And then I said it again... Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang. When I saw that Kim had said I needed to eat the warm PB sandwich. :cutie: 'Cause you know I would have.
Eaten it, I mean.:)

Okay so here it goes!

WPE--- never eaten there. Tried to get Mark to go in May but we ended up at Kona I think instead for lunch. We have eaten at WP in the dining room twice and the first time it was great, but the second time I had a cold from you know where -- (Do you remember my TR I did where the rent a cop was harrassing me in front of Wal Mart? That was the trip...) anyway- I got the butternut squash soup that time and it was gross.
I still want to try WPE b/c it just seems so great. And anytime I can get BBQ chicken pizza, I am a happy person.:goodvibes So it is on the list of "to Do's!"

Cookes of Dublin --- I remember you were sick after eating there- we've never tried it, don't think we will.

Went to Planet Hollywood one yr, don't remember anything other than it was loud and overpriced.

Tried to get into Mcd's once and the line was 30 minutes long.

Liked Earl of Sandwich very much-- same Rent a cop trip. Had some type of soup and a sandwich. Lines are definitely long, and I'm not sure that it's any better than an Atlanta Bread Co or Panera's. :confused3 We'd go back if we wanted that type of food.

Goofy's candy co-- been inside but didn't buy anything. Had fun watching them make all the yummy stuff though.:cloud9:

We went to Cap'n Jacks one year. Is that place still open??? We thought it was good, but just had sandwiches. Enjoyed the view there. It was fun.

Also have eaten at Fulton's, but dinner was over $200 for the two of us- we definitely would go back if we wanted to get rid of that amount of money in a short amount of time.:goodvibes

now, moving on to the party pics......

He's grown so much!!!!!!!! He looks like a preteen. I'm so glad he liked his GC's and will be able to use them soon.:lovestruc Bowling looks like it was fun.
And the cupcakes look so good with those sprinkles! I forgot- I have some of those. Must make some for the weekend!:wizard: Just because.:)

You've packed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl:
I cannot believe you got all of your documents. It's coming along now so fast! It will be here before you know it.
I wonder how many hours you and I have spent the past year, discussing these trips?????????:rotfl2: If we could've gotten paid for doing it-- we'd be very very rich.:rolleyes1

I have been reworking my park schedule too. :upsidedow I don't know what it is about this trip, but I just can't seem to nail down my plans. :confused3 So many options, such little time. . . :rotfl:

I hope you are able to make it to DTD and T-Rex! :goodvibes

I thought for sure you had finally gone to WPE last time. :confused3 Maybe next time! I remember you went to the WP dining room that one time and didn't like it much. Yes, I sure do remember the rent a cop story! :lmao:

Cooke's  Stay away!!
Planet Hollywood - excellent description - loud & overpriced!
IDK if Cap n Jacks is still open or not. :confused3 Kind of forgot about it.

I remember you saying you guys spent over $200 at Fulton's. :scared1: That alone has scared me away from that place!!!!

I know. :sad2: My baby isn't really a baby anymore.

I am about to the bottom of my Minnie's Bakeshop sprinkles. Good thing I know where I can get some more real soon! :thumbsup2

You've packed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep - I started throwing stuff in a suitcase!! :cool1:

Oh gosh! A LOT of hours!! A lot, a lot, a lot!!! :goodvibes Deluxe 2010 all the way!!! :woohoo:

Yes it does. :sad1:

I have been reworking my park schedule too. :upsidedow I don't know what it is about this trip, but I just can't seem to nail down my plans. :confused3 So many options, such little time. . . :rotfl:

There is a lot going on, too much for such a short trip and I honestly do not know where my head was, since I should have planned from the start so DS and Ddil could see the fireworks at MK and the Castle Lights but it had totally skipped my mind since DH and I are doing the MVMCP which they did not want to spend the $ on. So here I am shifting everything around , not that I mind seeng Wishes as I have never seen them last time I saw fireworks at MK was '98, the MSEP will be emotional for me since it was at MK our first couple of trips to Disney.

I made a lunch ressie for T-Rex for our "new" DTD day which is actually the day I had orginally planned on going there before I shifted our last two days around a week or two ago

I just want to snag an early ressie for CP for our new MK day, but if I don't it is no biggie right now I have a 9:10am.

This trip planning is nuts!

Good morning everyone

Just a quick hello before I head out for the day. Our PTO fundraiser ends today and I will be counting money and tallying sheets a good part of the day. :faint:

Have a great day!

:woohoo::cool1:ONE MONTH from today we will be at Disney World!!! :cool1::woohoo::banana:

:dance3:

I will leave you with a little update. :thumbsup2

Should we move onto Resort Dining?

Okay, we'll start with the MK resorts!

We have eaten at:

Chef Mickey's
Ohana
Kona Cafe
1900 Park Fare
Whispering Canyon Cafe

We have been to Chef Mickey's 4 times! That's the most we've been to any WDW restaurant I think. We have done dinner 3 times and breakfast once. All were very good. I think I prefer the dinner though. It's always a wild and crazy time in there. So fun! The characters are great and the service is good too. After so many times there we have decided to skip it this time. I hope we don't regret it.

We had breakfast at Ohana once. We had a very early ADR, something like 7:45 I think. We had a very nice time, the food was good, the characters were a blast, and we were able to get to MK before rope drop!

We had breakfast at Kona Cafe last November. I don't even care for breakfast, but let me just say – that was the best ever!!! Tonga Toast  We were all very pleased with our food. We ate around 10:00 and were so full that we didn't eat again until dinner! We can't wait to get back to Kona for breakfast this trip!

We had dinner at 1900 Park Fare a couple of trips back. I had always wanted to do a princess meal and without having any little girls I couldn't see dragging the boys unwillingly to the castle for a meal! :rotfl: So I figured 1900 PF might be the best option with the step-sisters. I was right! The boys had a blast. The step-sisters were hilarious. DS11 even danced with one of them! The food on the other hand, not very good. It was edible, but not great by any means.

Whispering Canyon Cafe :sad2: Not a fan. I knew going in that this place gets mixed reviews. Seems like a love it or hate it kind of place. We went in hopeful last November for dinner one evening and were disappointed. The kids had a blast and thought it was the funniest place ever! Especially when they brought us 10 bottles of Ketchup! But they hated their food, and so did DH & I. I was feeling so sick by the time we left there, so we asked for our desserts to go. Luckily I was feeling better later and was able to enjoy the dessert and it was very good!

Since we plan to spend the majority of this vacation in the BW/Epcot/DHS area, the only MK resort dining we have planned is a Kona Cafe breakfast!:goodvibes

Well, after reading about all that yummy food and seeing the pics- it makes my Greek yogurt with Fiber one cereal and 6 almonds that I sit here eating seem..........
bland.

And boring.

And dumb.:sad2:

And now, I'm hungry.:rolleyes1

And it's all your fault if I have to go consume more calories than I did yesterday.

Especially seeing pics of Kona.:love::love::love:
Love that place. It's the best ever. You should try lunch some trip, if you can tear yourself away from the tonga Toast. ::yes:: (The macadamia nut pancakes are my favorite... YUM!)
It is my favorite place to go. I tell Mark all of the time that I want to go - just to get the wings and Fish tacos. I know you wouldn't eat those, but man are they good.
After you've finished eating and before you leave the Poly after walking around- go get a Dole whip.:woohoo:

Park Fare-- I've of course never been. But it looks like fun and your oldest dancing with the ugly step sister is classic. He's so funny!:upsidedow

Chef Mickey's-- never been.:upsidedow It looks liek a great time though. I hope you guys don't miss it this trip.

Whispering Canyon-- we won't ever go back, but I'm glad we tried it.

'Ohana- dinner is very good there, but no characters. But it's fun and I like the food pretty well. It seems to be a hard ADR to get.

Well, I hope your fundraiser was successful!!:goodvibes

Great update!!!!!!!!!!

YAY 1 Month left!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shelly - He is getting so big..... :( i hate that they grow up so fast.... Doe's he still have the crush on Minnie???? i remember that..... Can't wait to hear all about your trip when you get back.... I just started really talking about my friends about what ressie they want me to make and stuff.....

So if you were going with a friend to WDW and it was their first time there what would be your one of your "HAVE TO" ADR's?????

Well, I can't comment on any of the restaurants because I've never been to any of them. :rolleyes1 I really need to get out more!

So....I will comment on your pictures. And I have to say you take some great pictures! :thumbsup2 I agree with Jo - those food pictures, especially breakfast, have made me hungry! At least Jo was eating an actual breakfast. I was sitting here eating crackers. Let's see......crackers/Tonga Toast......I think I'll have the Tongas Toast! Of course, I've never had Tonga Toast because I've never been to Kona Cafe or anywhere else for that matter, but it sure looks good in those pics!

That is a great photo of your family at Kona Cafe. I also loved the one of your DS11 dancing with the stepsister! How cute is that? And I loved the looks on your boys' faces in the pic at Whispering Canyon. You can tell how much fun they were having there!

OK, that's it until the next installment of places I've never been to. :rotfl2:

Yes it does. :sad1:

I have been reworking my park schedule too. :upsidedow I don't know what it is about this trip, but I just can't seem to nail down my plans. :confused3 So many options, such little time. . . :rotfl:

I hope you are able to make it to DTD and T-Rex! :goodvibes

I know!!! Me too!!! Well, last night I finally sat down with Mike and the kids to go over what we had. gotta work on that today......
Yay for one month!!!!:dance3::cheer2::cheer2:
that makes me a month and one week..even though my ticker says 1 month and 6 days:confused3 not sure why.... I even went back and redid the ticker just to see the date and it still said the same thing? Not sure if they totally discount the actual travel date or what.... We have eaten at Ohana-great brkfst, 1900...food was not so good....and chef Mickeys...I am not big on brkfst either, but the kids loooved it!!!

Happy One Month!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes
I'm so sorry I have been so absent from your PTR. I haven't been on the DIS as much lately with our January trip being cancelled.:sad1: Plus, there has been a ton going on here at home.
I will PM you later to update you on things!
Are the kids starting to get really excited about WDW? I bet they can't wait!

I know we had breakfast at Chef Mickeys and I seem to recall having dinner at another restaurant years ago , I remember having lamb with mint jelly on the side and I remember DH having a mini heart attack over the bill and grumbling about having to leave a $20 tip  but for the life of me I can not recall the name of the restaurant and since they changed from back in the late 80's and 90's I have no clue. We have not been back since, DH is not a fan of CR, too noisy , too busy etc etc, I would like to stay there one day

Have never stepped foot into GF, I always said I wouldn't until the day I can stay there, it is my dream resort, Main Building-MK view, of course I may just go there this year if the gingerbread house is up, I had made a ressie for GF Cafe but ended up cancelling it.

I have read about the tonga toast( it looks delish in your pics) at Kona's at the Poly and would love to go there someday but DH is not a fan of the Poly Resort either, we went to the Aloha Dinner Show one year and DH did not like the resort or the meal only thing he did like was the female dancers in the show:rotfl: I on the other hand liked the show and the more DH complained the more Mai Tai's I drank I was feeling no pain that night :lmao:

Have eaten at WCC and Artist point a few times due to the fact we stayed there twice but WCC also made DH's list of not his "favorites" :rotfl2: again too noisy, he hated the kids gallopping around the room, Artist Point he loved, I could take or leave either place to me they were just ok

Breakfast is my favorite meal and your pics sure made me hungry!
