Magicians & Jugglers & a Clown Slide, OH MY! We're going to the BWI... A Nov 2010 PTR

:faint:

29 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe it's almost time.

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Let's see-
Epcot resort dining.
Well, there's Big River Grille and um, Big River Grille. That's the only place we've eaten on the Boardwalk. And I must've liked it a ton, 'cause I convinced you to go. ::yes::
And now we will always have BRG.
I really did like all that i ordered there. It was very good, I thought- and I may be in the minority, but I like that you don't have to have an ADR to get in.

That pic of your youngest with Minnie at Cape May is by far my favorite pic ever of him. :lovestruc He looks so------ happy.

I can't wait to hear how the supper there goes -- I hope you can find some nonseafood items on the menu for you.

Hope your long weekend is fab!:woohoo:

I think you mean Kona for breakfast!! :goodvibes That's where the Tonga Toast is! We've never been to Boma, but I hear good things about it.

DOH! Yes, that is where I booked! For some reason, I thought Kona Cafe was at AKL, but when I looked there, I saw I had it confused with Boma. It must have stuck in my head the wrong way. It was a LOOOONG week at work. I'm SO glad it's the weekend!:cool1:

Hello

It was a wonderful and beautiful weekend here! Once October gets here this type of weather is hard to come by around here, so we are loving it! :goodvibes We went to a Fall Festival yesterday, did some shopping and went to dinner last night, went to Church this morning, and then to DS's soccer game this afternoon. All in beautiful 80 degrees & sunshine!!! :cool1: AND -- DS's team finally won a game!! :cheer2: This is very exciting as this was the 5th game of the season and our first win! Last year his team only lost one game all season and won the end of the season championship in June. This year the team is not quite as strong. So we were so happy and excited for the kids that they won today!

You ladies and your football!! :faint: :rotfl:

Where is Teri anyway??? :confused3 Oh I know, probably watching football!!! :lmao:

That is great that DS's team won today, now with there confidence being given a boost hopefully more wins in the future.

It has been sunny but a lil chilly here even during the daylight hours cause of the breezes

DH and I are staying away from the fall festivals this year since we are heading down to Disney soon, we have 3 we like, the Apple Festival, the Pumpkin Festival and the Big E

DS and Ddil have hit two fairs that I know of so far and then the other day he started about not having any spending money when we go, when you see me in Disney I may not have a tongue left from biteing it so many times
:rotfl2:

We have been enjoying that fabulous weather here too! I've hardly been in the house all weekend!

Just keep thinking about 4 weeks!! Nothing after that!

Hi Shelly! I'm Here! We've been at our camp this weekend and just got home around 8:00.

Hi Jo! :flower3: My peace offering. ;) I'll get back to you in a minute.

Shelly, it sounds like you had a very nice, family weekend. :goodvibes Congrats to your DS on his soccer win! :cheer2: Good for them for getting that first win! Don't you just love the temps in the 70-80's range? I told my DH this weekend that it was the perfectest weather ever (if there was such a word, that would be the word to use). Shorts, short-sleeves, not cold, not hot - perfect! If only we could bottle it up for future use!

Jo? You there? Are you still speaking to me? :worried: Last night I lost a few minutes or hours of my life watching that nail-biter of a football game. In fact, right now I'm watching the replay on the local station, because I couldn't even watch the final minutes as it was happening. My DSis and I had to go outside, it was too scary to watch. Three of our 6 games have been down-to-the-wire heart-stoppers like that. So you'll have to tell me what your thoughts on the game are. (Do you think that was a forward pass?) I thought we played pretty well, but made some huge mistakes that we never do (Peterson fumbled punt, allowing a return for a TD). I'm not a fan of the QB in and out stuff. I thought Lee has proven to be the better QB and why Miles still puts Jefferson in there so much makes me crazy. But anyway, we lucked out in the end, once again. :faint: And Bama went down!! :cool1: That's the most important thing! So I hope the "No speaking period" hasn't been extended.
We cool, we cool, right?

Shelly, sorry for doing what I said I wouldn't do anymore and talking football. :guilty: But see what you're missing out on? You need to get a Penn State or Pitt jersey and start tuning in to ESPN! :rotfl2:

Yes, hopefully this will lead to some more wins for them! :wizard:
Actually they only have 3 games to go. The last game is the Sunday before we leave!!

It looks like we are going to have another beautiful day here!:goodvibes I wanted to take the kids to do something, but all they want to do is have friends over and play outside. :upsidedow

:rotfl2:

I hope you have a tongue left if I run into you at WDW!! :lmao: Remember - Ask for seperate checks before you order. ;):rotfl:
We have been enjoying that fabulous weather here too! I've hardly been in the house all weekend!

Just keep thinking about 4 weeks!! Nothing after that!

I'm glad to hear you are getting some of this fabulous weather too! :goodvibes I wish every fall day was like this!

Yes, I am focusing on 4 weeks from now. Not one day beyond. I'll deal with that later. :sad2:

I figured that's where you were. How was the weekend at your camp?

Yes, I just love temps ranging from about 70-85. Anything below that is too cold and above that is getting a little hot! I guess that's why I love WDW in November so much!!! Perfect!

Shelly, sorry for doing what I said I wouldn't do anymore and talking football. :guilty: But see what you're missing out on? You need to get a Penn State or Pitt jersey and start tuning in to ESPN! :rotfl2:

Chat away ladies!! :hyper2: I find it all quite amusing. :lmao:

I just never got into football. :confused3 Give me soccer, nascar, or even basketball - but not football!

So to round out our WDW dining discussion I have DTD area resort dining and the moderate food courts. I think that's it! Never been to AKL, so I have no AK area resort dining experience, and we've never stayed at a value resort, so I have no value food court experience either.

DTD area resorts. . .

We've eaten at:

Olivia's
Good's To Go

Both are at OKW. Last November we stayed at POR for 6 nights and OKW for 2 nights. We didn't have plans to eat at Olivia's and didn't have an ADR prior to leaving, but we found ourselves with extra TS dining credits and were able to get an ADR at Olivia's the same day! We weren't expecting much, but let me tell you we were pleasantly surprised! We all enjoyed our meals very much and it was one of the best meals of our trip! :goodvibes

Good's To Go is a little food stand at OKW and has CS and snack choices. Not a lot to choose from, but at least there is something! We got cold sandwiches from there one night. They were good. Nothing great, but definitely edible!

Moderate Food courts – We have eaten at all of them!

We have stayed at CBR twice and we have been to the Old Port Royale food court 6 times! Three times on each trip. We have always been very pleased with our meals there. The food is very good and has always been made fresh to order, so it has been hot! There are several stations plus a grab-n-go section. So definitely a wide variety to choose from and something for everyone in the family! The food court is simple to navigate and the CM's are very friendly & helpful.

We have stayed at POFQ once. We ate at the Sassagoula Floatworks food court 3 times while we were there. I would say the food court there is good, but not as good as CBR or POR. It's just smaller with less choices. As far as I remember everything we had there was very good. Sorry, I could only find a few pics.

We have stayed at CSR once. We were not impressed with the Pepper Market food court. As a matter of fact it is one of the reasons we probably wouldn't return to CSR. The food court at CSR (and all of the food establishments) is not Disney owned. And you can tell. The service was very poor. We gave it 3 tries and were very disappointed each time. The employees were very rude and even argumentative. You have to get a card and get it stamped at each station, the kids have to order from a complete separate station, and you have to tip for someone to bring you drinks. :confused3 I don't know, but the place was definitely not for us. Just too much of a hassle. On the plus side, the food was good! Again, sorry I could only find a few pics.

We have stayed at POR once. We ate at the Riverside Mill food court 2 times during our stay there. The food court is very good and has lots of choices! We really enjoyed it. I loved the create-your-own salad, it was so good! The CM's are very friendly & helpful. The items from the bakery station are fantastic! We will definitely eat here again sometime. :thumbsup2

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay::yay::yay: They won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cloud9:

That is so great to hear! I can't believe they only have 3 games left. It's going by sooooo fast!!

What a wonderful update!!!!!!!!!

It was so fun to read. Very informative little reporter, you are. :)

Okay let's see-
OKW---Olivia's-- I think their food looks so fresh and good. I remember you being pleasantly surprised by that restaurant.

CSR..... Pepper Market.:rolleyes1 Sounds like a bunch of trouble and confusion. It looks pretty in there; I just don't know if we could handle the pressure with grace and style.:rotfl:

POR- Riverside Mill- it has always been my pit stop for a coffee fill up when walking the perimeter of POFQ-POR. I'm sure I'm not supposed to refill my mug there after walking from POFQ- but ya know...... when you need coffee, you need coffee. At least it's always a NEW mug. No old mugs for me....:rolleyes1

CBR- Old Port Royale...... :cloud9: Muffins as big as yo' butt. That's what I remember about them. The kids could only eat half of theirs so we had snacks later.

POFQ-Sassagoula Floatworks---- They serve a mean refillable mug there.:rotfl2: That's all I've ever gotten from there. People do love their beingets, but I think it would make me hurl to eat them early in the morning.:rotfl:

Let's see- I guess that's all.

I jsut want to say thanks for doing the PTR--- I feel like I'm experiencing everything with ya.

PS---- Teri-------------
:scared:
:scared:
:scared:

Mark texted me all thruout the game. He was sitting in the student section- he said it was too crazy and he was too old. Never thought we'd be too old for the student section!
He kept texting me- asking "was it a forward pass?" "Wasn't that a touchdown?" "Was he in or out?"
You know how it is when you're at the game-- you have to go home to see what actually happened.

I told Drew "It's gonna be a fake-- watch!!!" and of course you guys did it to us once again. :scared: Ray Charles could've seen that coming- I don't know why our coaches didn't plan for it.
I don't think it was a forward pass. If it was- it was only by centimeters. Mark kept saying it was a forward pass and finally we had to do it in slow motion so that he could see what I was talking about when I said it wasn't.

And so then, at the end, after they interviewed Les- Mark looks at me and says--- "tell me again- do we hate Les Miles, cause I don't know what he jsut said, he confused me- but I just can't help but laugh and sort of like the guy.":lmao::lmao::lmao:

He said all in all the game was a fun time. Had some LSU fans yelling "&*^% you Florida" as they were leaving the stadium, but other than that everyone was pleasant.

It was a good game and I'm sure you guys were having fun at the camp!!!!
And yes.................... Carolina indeed did the impossible. ::yes::
It was a beautiful sight- the only problem is who slid into the #1 spot now.
:sad2:
Sorry Shelly--- Teri and I'll behave now that we're back on speaking terms with one another.:rotfl2:

Congrats on the win!

Thanks Becca! :goodvibes

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay::yay::yay: They won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cloud9:

Thanks JO! :) I was so happy for the kids! I can't believe there are only 3 games left either. I remember a few months ago when DH said - we have an entire soccer season to get through until we can go to Disney. :faint: I was like - gee, thanks for putting it like that. :rotfl: But I knew once school & soccer started time would fly by!

Yes, CBR's muffins are very big. So are the cookies! And just about everything in that grab-n-go section!!

You know, I forgot about the beignets. We got those when we were at POFQ. I thought for sure DH would love them. He loves all donuts & pastries. He didn't care for them at all. :confused3 I thought they were just okay. We really didn't see what all the hype was about. Give me a Dole Whip anyday!! :goodvibes

Sorry Shelly--- Teri and I'll behave now that we're back on speaking terms with one another.:rotfl2:

Okay, as long as you keep it friendly banter!!

Well, I guess since I have now gone through just about every WDW restaurant I should tell you where we are eating on this trip! :goodvibes I think I have told you bits & pieces throughout all the food posts, but here are the plans!

We are not getting the DDP. It just isn't worth it for us since DS is considered an adult. Whoever it was at WDW that decided a 10 year should be an adult should have their head examined! But anyway, until he orders off of the adult menu the DDP is just not a good deal for us anymore. And it may not even be then.

And we saved much more by taking the 40% room discount than to take Free Dining.

I have purchased WDW gift cards to pay for our food. So it will be like it is prepaid, just like before when we got the DDP!

Being that we are not on the DDP we didn't go overboard on the ADR's. Hopefully that will give the vacation a more relaxed feel, not having to rush to ADR's everyday. But being that there are so many great WDW restaurants, we still made some!

Currently we have ADR's for:
Sci-Fi Dine In
San Angel Inn
Cape May Cafe (dinner)
Kona Cafe (breakfast)
T-Rex

We also have an ADR at Crystal Palace for breakfast, but are unsure of this one. Buffet's are not the best deal for us having to pay an adult price for a picky 11 year old. Plus we are thinking of just grabbing a quick breakfast/lunch at the Main Street Bakery instead.

We will also eat at Big River Grille. But no ADR is needed there.

As for CS, we are not certain. These are the ones we have in mind:
Starring Rolls at DHS
BWI Bakery
BWI Pizza Window
BWI To Go Cart
Main Street Bakery
Mara at AKL
Casey's Corner
Earl of Sandwich or Pollo Compero at DTD
Boulangerie Patisserie at Epcot
Another Epcot CS ?
