Magicians & Jugglers & a Clown Slide, OH MY! We're going to the BWI... A Nov 2010 PTR

Ahhh, Animal Kingdom.

You already know how I feel about it. Wanna love it, wanna adore it. We go in with an open mind and every time I leave saying "What was that all about again?"

EE- love it. Scared the fool out of Belle and she still talks about doing it again.
DInosaur- love it. I scream like that lady dressed in white in your pic- every single time! I know that dang dino is gonna come at me, looking like he thinks I'm a tasty snack but I can't help myself. I scream till I almost pass out.:confused3 He's just soooooo loud. :guilty:

Never seen Nemo. Lion King was okay- we did it once.
Even the food there is just so so to me.
But we'll talk food another time.:rolleyes1

KRR---- my jeans were soaking wet all day and all night. Only do KRR if you have ponchos and/or are headed back to the resort. It's not fun walking around dripping everywhere.

I do enjoy walking around in AK, but it's always so crowded that I'm miserable.

I guess I just can't get into the spirit of AK.

Sorry-- what kind of pep talk was that???????????:rotfl2:

Hey now missy...you watch who you're messing with! I will not hesitate to pull you by your butt germ ears and put you in time out. :lmao:

No really, I'd MUCH rather hear about food than butt germs. Where in the world did you ever come up with butt germs? Maybe I don't want to know. I'm surprised you didn't get bleeped for that one.

I'm loving those Star Wars cookie cutters!!!! Andrew wants a Star Wars party again- he's already planning it and his birthday isn't until April. :confused3
Welllllllllllll, if you wanna risk your digits by putting them into my butt germ ears, you can.:goodvibes:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Your loss.:lmao:
I didnt' get bleeped b/c it's better to say Butt Germs than Fecal Fanny.:upsidedow

Kim...I was wondering that too! How did she pass the bleepers and what does it ACTUALLY mean?!!!:rotfl: Is she not a riot?!! Love it!

Okay, seriously- wanna know what has the MOST butt germs?? Your remote in your hotel. So the next time you go to turn on Stacy with her annoying little self, think about THAT.:scared1::scared1:

You should have been here last week to put these guys in a time out Kim! They were running wild while I was at school!!:rotfl:

Okay, we will talk about food very soon! ::yes::

Looks like you better get ordering those cookie cutters! :darth: It's just a little over 6 months until April you know! :lmao:

Kim, we need adult supervision at all times......:rolleyes1 You don't need to work, do ya?
Of course, if I didn't show up to the party, everyone would be fine by themselves... no supervision needed.:rolleyes1

And do get to ordering those cookie cutters, dear. They might not make it in time. Bless his little heart, planning his party in advance.

Had to comment on Shellys Dino pic...the guy and the kid he has his hand holding onto in the front row are my faves!!! how funny is that? I wonder how mny families have pics of me on the RnR at their house and say:Look at that lady...she's hysterical!!!! I don't think she can breathe!!!!!

Hmmmm, I don't know what to say about you not liking AK. :confused3 It isn't my favorite park either, but I do enjoy it. But I would like to live on Main St. USA and have a vacation home in World Showcase somewhere in the neighborhood of England or France. :lmao: I'm MUCH more of an Epcot/MK kinda girl, but I think AK has some very unique things to offer and I wouldn't want to go to Disney and skip it altogether. I think the Nemo musical is great and I would say that you should give that a try for sure. I really tried hard to think of something that would be appealing to you about AK, but if you guys aren't into looking at animals........................ it doesn't leave much on the agenda, does it? Maybe you could take that opportunity to go see AKL or have a meal there, or maybe Rainforest Cafe??? Might be too similar to T-Rex though. Sorry........... you totally stumped me on this one.

AK isn't our favorite either. :confused3 We love the safari and the kids like the dinosaur playground part but other than that not much else we absolutely love.

Hope picture day goes well. Last year Andrew kept blinking and they told him to keep his eyes open. His pic looked like he was a deer in headlights. Can't wait to show that one to his future wife.

Kim...I was wondering that too! How did she pass the bleepers and what does it ACTUALLY mean?!!!:rotfl: Is she not a riot?!! Love it!
There are some questions that just should not be asked. ;)
You should have been here last week to put these guys in a time out Kim! They were running wild while I was at school!!:rotfl:

6 months and he's already inviting my daycare kids to his party. He loves a party- especially when it means he's getting gifts.
Welllllllllllll, if you wanna risk your digits by putting them into my butt germ ears, you can.:goodvibes:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Your loss.:lmao:

He's in such a rush to get to 7 because he knows lots of Legos say 7-12 on the box and he wants them.

My remote is the first thing I wipe down when we stay at a hotel...followed by the phone, toilet, doorknobs, table tops, and don't forget to check for bedbugs and remove the gross comforter...yup, paranoid type A germaphobe here.

DHS is Logan's favorite park.
In agreement with my indecisive nature, I am incapable of choosing a favorite park:
MK - they have bakery smells piped onto Main Street - 'nuf said.
Epcot - feeds my inner, yet slightly nervous, World Traveler
DHS - there's no business like show business - I'm a thespian at heart
AK - I'm not exactly sure what I like about this park, I think its the music. Walking through AK makes me want to dance...I usually do.

Man...I wanna go back reeeal bad. Logan's still not convinced though...and there's a timing issue, because he's trying to get his report date to Korea pushed back as much as possible. Obviously him being here longer is more of a priority than booking a trip, and I don't want to pay an airline change/cancel fee.

I'm with you about AK...it's not our favorite. We like it, but I'm not sure what it is that makes it not a favorite. We usually only spend half a day at AK.
So, we just found out that DD9's dance school will be traveling to WDW next October...staying at CBR! I am so excited...we are going to make it a family trip. I am sure that I will have questions about CBR for you, since we have not stayed there before!

Hello everyone! :goodvibes

I had all intentions of staying home today, but I ended up agreeing to go in for just a half day to sub. And now I have to go back in for a classroom party in DS8's room in just a little bit! :upsidedow

great pics..nope,you are not missing anything!! Well, me and ds11 and dd always go watch the Flights of Wonder bird show while Mike and ds14 go do Everest...it's really cute and if you haven't seen it you might consider it. Now, I wouldn't take extra time to go do it, but it you plan to be there and need a filler then go for it! Its fun and learn-y, but the kids loved it....we also like to watch the 'painters' who juggle and all that over by dinorauma...again, just something to pass time...wouldn't go over there just for that.
I agree--it's #4 on our list too---we usually go for them to ride EE and we just hang around at the bird show then let them play at the dino dig...I reeeeeaaaally don't like that thing--and the kids ADORE it!!! I nearly fall asleep of boredom the whole time they are there!!!YUCK!! In fact, I don't even have it on the books for this trip!!! I do have a 1/2 day open for them to pick what they want to do for re-dos one day...cuz you never know what they will be just dying to do again! I have the other parks scheduled at least twice, but if I asked them about AK on this morning and everybody just looked kinda bored and said "Naaaah"...kinda guiltily!!! LOL

Never seen the Flights of Wonder. . . I'll have to ask the boys if they are interested. We have always managed to steer clear of the dino dig/play area. Actually I don't even think the boys know it's there!

AK is 4th on my list too mainly because it always seems crowded and hot when I have been there.

I like the dinosaur ride, but have not tried EE or Kali River Rapids. My Ddil got so wet on KRR that it took her sneakers 2 days to dry out if it wasn't for getting wet I would be tempted to try it since I love the turning and spinning .

I had planned on doing the Finding Nemo The Musical this trip before I switched AK to our last day after looking at crowd projections and finding out the Christmas parade would not start till later in Nov. I even had an ADR at Tusker House to get the tix for the show.

We normally only go to AK for a partial day too and since we will be only 5 mins away from AK staying at AKV it is a better choice for our last day.

I did not even enjoy the safari last year, the wait in line was too long and once again did not spot any lions , I have been hopeing to see them everytime since the first time I went to AK

I like looking at the animals and taking pics of them but I just love the other parks all better.

I was thinking of skipping AK this time but DS and Ddil both have never been there. My DS did not go with us in '98 the year it opened as he was living in NY at the time and it was not there the last time his wife visited WDW

Where do you eat when at AK? Since I cancelled Tusker House I decided on Flame Tree BBQ,it seems to get good reviews for a CS, for the life of me I can not recall where we ate last year but I know we did :rotfl:

Yes, hot & crowded no matter what day it is or what time of year it is. :confused3

We ate at Pizzafari last year for lunch. It was okay. Nothing great, nothing terrible either. We did Tusker House for breakfast the trip before that. Not sure where we will eat this time. I thought about Flame Tree, but I don't know if I like their menu of not. . .

Exactly, I want to love it - but just don't.

 I didn't even notice that lady in the pic until now!! I wonder if she was screaming for real or just pretending? :rotfl:

After my last experience on Splash, I will not ride it or Kali without a poncho. Call me crazy but I do not like walking around with my drawers wet!!! :lmao:

Had to comment on Shellys Dino pic...the guy and the kid he has his hand holding onto in the front row are my faves!!! how funny is that? I wonder how mny families have pics of me on the RnR at their house and say:Look at that lady...she's hysterical!!!! I don't think she can breathe!!!!!

I know, it's hilarious!! :rotfl2:

I was thinking about taking the opportunity to go check out AKL. Since we will be in the area afterall! I believe that may be the one and only WDW resort we have not visited. . . Thanks for reminding me, I am going to jot that down in my planner! :goodvibes

AK isn't our favorite either. :confused3 We love the safari and the kids like the dinosaur playground part but other than that not much else we absolutely love.

I guess I'm not alone in my feelings for AK. We do like it, but I just don't see us ever loving it.

The boys said picture day went well. We'll see in about a month or so when the pics come back. :rotfl:

Yep, me too! That remote gets the clorox wipe down, right after I check the mattress for bed bugs.

I love your list! :thumbsup2 You are right, AK does have catchy music that makes you want to dance! :cool1:

I hope a trip is in your near future. :wizard:

Can't wait to hear about all your plans! We are there Oct 28th until Nov 12th so maybe we will bump in to each other!

And we will talk about DTD food another day!! ::yes::

Great pictures, Shelly! :thumbsup2 I love the one of your family with Mickey on the bench! That actually looks real! :) Y'all had that look just right!

We've only done DTD once, on our last trip in 2006. We took the boat over from POR. We shopped a litle and ate at WPE, but we didn't stay all that long. Now I'm wishing we had done more! It looks like we missed alot of good places to shop. Is that the Mickey wreath you bought last year in one of the pics? I love that!

Have you ever been to or thought about La Nouba? I was really wanting to go last time, but it was dark during our stay. :sad1: We've been to a couple of Cirque shows in Las Vegas, and I loved them. The bad thing is that tickets are pretty expensive, on top of an already costly trip.

Happy 6 weeks to you!!! :woohoo:

AAHhhhh!! DTD!! I would muuuuch rather go there than the AK!!! And it's...FREEE!!!! I love the biiiig Disney store...I actually have the little red Minnie Mouse one with the polka dots...Are you gonna go the day yall get there? If I don't have a headache, I like to go there first...get the whole Disneymania started!!! Hoorrraayyy for you for 6 weeks!

:confused3

yay for 6 weeks!

So excited for you!!!!

Okay I have a question...
How do you get your DH to wear a Mickey shirt? Mark won't do it. :(
You guys look so cute next to Mickey.:lovestruc

And the hot air balloon.... oh my gosh oh my gosh. My heart flutters thinking about it. eeeeeeeeeek! You're so brave!

I can't wait to see pics of it- I do hope you do it.

I love DTD, your pics are Great!

Will keep my fingers crossed for you and us that the winds don't keep the Charactors in Flight Balloon from flying, it is on our list of "to do's" also. Since it flys weather permitting until midnight I have high hopes.

DS wants to head to the Festival of Masters I haven't mentioned to him yet that I switched our days around and going to DTD in the afternoon, so he will not have as long there as at first planned, Festival of the Masters (9:30am-5:30pm) the day we are there, of course if they want to go off and do their own thing it is fine with me too.

Great pictures, Shelly! :thumbsup2 I love the one of your family with Mickey on the bench! That actually looks real! :) Y'all had that look just right!

Thanks Teri! :goodvibes

Yep, that's the wreath I bought last year! Can't wait to get it back out! :santa:

I have thought about La Nouba. But when I mentioned it to DH he wasn't interested at all. :confused3

Me too!!!!! :cool1: I love DTD! Yes, and no park ticket needed! :thumbsup2

I don't know if we will make it there on arrival day or not. Probably not, I think we will probably hang around the BW, Epcot, and/or DHS!! I'm sure we will make it to DTD within a few days or so of being there though!

hehe:rotfl:
