Magicians & Jugglers & a Clown Slide, OH MY! We're going to the BWI... A Nov 2010 PTR

Listen, Toots, if you get Butt germs in your ear, you'll be realllllly sorry.

Good Morning

DHS is 3rd on my list as far as favorite parks at Disney, I do plan on spending an entire day there this year as last year we were there for all of maybe 2 hours ? Ddil had a panic attack due to the crowds so we hopped onto the boat and went over to BW had lunch at ESPN then walked to Epcot

I have done TOT twice and that is enough for me, I really do not like it at all , I am sad that Star Tours will be closed as it is one of my favorites just like your DS, high on my list is the great movie ride which I love, and muppet vision 3D both of which I missed last year

You are so right about the CS choices at the Studies, but I have read and seen some good picks of Starring Rolls, they are only open from 11am-4pm but have wonderful huge looking black forest ham and also turkey sandwiches and cup cakes that look to die for especially the butterfinger cupcake.

I also read about another place in DHS I forget the name but it was something like the Writers Place ? Sounded interesting for a CS

50's Prime time is our favorite for TS

I have planned our DHS day for the night Fantasmic is showing (worried about the crowds being larger) but I plan not to go to Fantasmic unless they add a second show, I will be over at OL while Fantasmic is going on, DS and Ddil want to see Fantasmic is why I planned that day for our DHS day

Gonna hush now I appologuise for being so long winded this am

You have got to hang out and see the Streetmosphere people! They are Mike's absolute favorite Disney thing!!!! Well, at DHS anyway!! Used to be a guy named Francis...he is soooooo funny!! Now, on the off season he is Buzz...there is Page Turner, get it? She's trying to make it big in Hollywood, then there are the City Workers, Dorma Nesmond(spin off of the old Hollywood hottie, Norma Desmond)...lots of others,-they usually hang out more to the front and the start of Sunset Blvd and close to the times board..oh, the little Police man is a hoot too!!!! Well...you may have known about them but just wanted to make sure!!!! They are all great..my kids laugh until their little faces are red as a beet!!! Gotta ask sometimes what time they will be out, but they are all worth the wait!

Shelly--I LOVE that picture of the boys outside The Little Mermaid! You said they liked the show...so was that picture before you saw it, when you were forcing them to go in? :rotfl:

Actually that was after the show!! They were trying to pretend they didn't like it. But I know the real truth. ;)

Yay! You're here today! Is this the end for a while or just 1 day off?

I was going to ask the same question that Pluto Fan did about the pic of the boys at VOTLM. It definitely looks like it was taken right after you said, "We WILL see the Little Mermaid!" They should know by now to trust your advice! You wouldn't steer them wrong!

You might get the same picture if you tell them you're going to see Beauty and the Beast. We saw it on our first trip, when both the kids were young. I remember that we enjoyed it, but that was so long ago. We didn't do it on our last 2 trips, when the kids were older. If nothing else, it is a chance to sit down for a little while and rest your feet, while being entertained at the same time.

Sounds Dangerous, I know we have done once or twice. It was another of those "it was OK, but not a must-do" things. I know, I'm not too much help with Disney planning.

I know one thing, though. I would love to go back in November so that I could see the Osborne Lights! I loved the pictures and videos from your last trip!

You are going to love staying at the BWI and being so close to your favorite parks!!

Glad you're back!

Well I thought I might get 2 days off in a row, but they just called to see if I could work tomorrow. :upsidedow Just a half day though!

Yes, you would think the kids would learn to trust my advice at Disney by now. Especially DS11 after the TOT incident! ;)

I may try to talk them into Beauty & the Beast. We'll see. With 2 days there we should have plenty of time! :thumbsup2

All right, I'm here, what did I miss?

You are sooooooo on top of things on your day off! An update and everything!

Okay first off-- I've never seen that pic of the boys in front of VOTLM. THAT IS SO FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it. They are hysterical and make me giggle.

Love the picture of TOT-- can I steal it for my daily wallpaper change??....I'm sure you don't care.:rolleyes1

Sad that the boys won't be able to go on Star tours. I know they love it.:guilty: ooh- forgot to tell you!! I thought about you yesterday when I got the mail. In it was my Williams-Sonoma catalog and they have Star Wars cookie cutters and pancake molds and aprons and...... oh here, just look---:lmao:
http://www.williams-sonoma.com/search/results.html?words=star+wars

See? I knew you'd love it.:lovestruc I can't remember if you have one close to you or not. I think there might be one in RPM but I can't remember. I've lived in too many areas with too many malls and they all get smooshed together in my brain.

Okay so back to DHS.... want to torture the boys some more? Make them go to Beauty and the Beast.:rotfl2: It's actually very very good- Drew even enjoys it when we go. Of course Belle has to go see her Beast so Drew just has to endure it.

We reallyy like The Great Movie Ride.
Oh and of course TOT ande RNRC, which I rode neither in May. :headache:
I think you need to go to Hollyweird since you love DHS so much. Mann's Chinese theater is, um, interesting.:scared1:

We did Sounds Dangerous in May. They should change the name to Sounds Nasty. I got creeped out. It was pitch black dark and you sat there listening to these headsets that probably had butt germs or some such grossness all over them... in your ears. Yeah- I sat there with them off for most of the time b/c I was sure my ears would fall off from butt germs in the next day or two and then I'd have to get Mickey ears to replace my human ears, and I figured it just wasn't worth it.
My advice????? Skip it, and keep your ears.

YAY JO's here!

Yep - you sure can steal my TOT pic! I'm sure you already did though! :rotfl:

The kids would love those Star Wars cookie cutters!! But I really don't see myself wearing that apron. :confused3:lmao:

We love the GMR too! We went on it on our very first trip and the boys hated it. So we never went on it again. Until last November when it dawned on me that it would be right up their alley now with all the shooting and stuff! They absolutely loved it and still talk about it!

Ear Butt Germs. Hmm. Doesn't sound like a good thing. :rotfl2: Maybe we will continue to steer clear of Sounds Dangerous. :rotfl:

Actually I don't even know if it's been open on our last several trips. :confused3

So--- now what? What can we talk about now?
I'm going to rummage thru the refrigerator and get some breakfast.
I'll be back in a jiff.

Looooove the update!:lovestruc

Hmm. . . I don't know what's next. . . Any ideas? popcorn::

How'd you know I've already stolen the pic and it's standing proudly on my computer background????????????:lmao: You know me all too well....:rolleyes1

Well let's see, we've already discussed so much this morning. :lmao:

hummmmm, IDK.

Tell us the one thing you are MOST looking forward to doing this trip.
I mean, when you think of your trip, what makes your heart skip a beat?:lovestruc

TOT 1 time is good enough for me!! DS11 on the other hand, who recently found his love for it, could ride it again and again and again.

Yes, you must do the GMR and Muppet Vision this time! :thumbsup2 We love them both!

I'll have to look up the Starring Rolls menu. Sounds interesting.

Never be sorry for chatting away on this PTR, that's what it's here for!! :goodvibes

We have seen them several times, but just on passing. We have never actually stopped and watched them for more than a minute or two. :confused3 We'll have to try to do that!

Well I thought for sure you would want to talk about food!

But that's an excellent question!! :goodvibes But one that I don't have an answer to! :upsidedow I'm looking forward to so many things! I guess most of all being at the BW with my family. :cloud9:

Maybe I'll get working on a top 10 list!

Loving your PTR! It's so funny to see your list of things you always do, have done a few times and have never done!! I love the Carousel of Progress and the American Adventure!! Would never miss them. :lovestruc Seems so funny to compare lists.

We're leaving for SSR in 16 days. Have fun at BWI. I'll be watching, as that is a place I hope to visit sometime soon. ;)

Yes, it's so funny how differently people look at things! Disney definitely has something for everyone! :goodvibes

Have a great time at WDW and SSR! :cool1:

I think that is very interesting that DHS is your favorite park. I don't think I have ever heard anyone say that before. I think it is my DH's favorite even though he has never said so.

I'd say skip the Sounds Dangerous. I've heard really bad things about it. However, I would HIGHLY reccomend the B&TB show. It is fantastic. Even my DH loved it, so I think your boys would like it if they gave it a chance. It is way better than VOTLM and they liked that. It's not that long either, so I think they can sit through it for their mom! You'll love it! And the Osbourne Lights............. :) I'd watch them every year without a doubt!

Great DHS update! Aren't the Osbourne Lights amazing? I loved seeing them in November 2006. We get to WDW on January 2nd, and the last night of the lights is January 3rd. I can't wait to see them again!

Hey now missy...you watch who you're messing with! I will not hesitate to pull you by your butt germ ears and put you in time out. :lmao:

No really, I'd MUCH rather hear about food than butt germs. Where in the world did you ever come up with butt germs? Maybe I don't want to know. I'm surprised you didn't get bleeped for that one.

I'm loving those Star Wars cookie cutters!!!! Andrew wants a Star Wars party again- he's already planning it and his birthday isn't until April. :confused3

Kim...I was wondering that too! How did she pass the bleepers and what does it ACTUALLY mean?!!!:rotfl: Is she not a riot?!! Love it!

Good morning PTR friends

Got the kids off to school about an hour ago. Good grief, it's picture day. :scared: Wasn't sure what to do with DS11's wild & crazy hair. Should be interesting when we get the pictures back!! :rotfl:

I don't have to be to work until 11:00, just a half day today. So I am off to finish up my AK post for you. . . . Be back in a short bit! :goodvibes

Okay let's talk about AK!

DisneyNovember2009109.jpg

This discussion may be quite shorter than the rest, because AK is by far number four on our park list. Epcot & DHS are right up there for number one, with MK only a few steps behind, and then there's poor AK way in the back. Not sure why, but we've just never really gotten into this park. :confused3

So, needless to say we will only be making one trip to AK. And it will likely be less than a half of a day. The kids just aren't into looking at animals much anymore and DH & I never really have been. And it always seems to be extra hot at AK.

But, there are a few things that we do enjoy there!

Rides/Shows/Attractions we always do at AK~

Expedition Everest
Dinosaur

Wow that is a pathetic list! :sad2:

Rides/Shows/Attractions we sometimes do at AK~

Festival of the Lion King
It's Tough to be a Bug
Kilimanjaro Safari
TriceraTop Spin
Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade

So as you can see, the list of things we haven't done at AK would be quite long so I won't bother to make it! The only thing we haven't tried that we would like to is Kali River Rapids! And maybe Finding Nemo The Musical. :fish:

Any thoughts on this??? Is there something great that we have been missing?

I don't think I've ever heard anyone else say that either! :upsidedow You should ask your DH, make him admit it!! ;):rotfl:

I think I am going to try to talk the boys into the B&TB show! :wizard:

Great DHS update! Aren't the Osbourne Lights amazing? I loved seeing them in November 2006. We get to WDW on January 2nd, and the last night of the lights is January 3rd. I can't wait to see them again!

Thanks Lauren! :goodvibes They are so amazing. :cloud9: I can't wait to see them again! How lucky for you that you will get there in time to see them!! :cool1:

Hey now missy...you watch who you're messing with! I will not hesitate to pull you by your butt germ ears and put you in time out. :lmao:

You should have been here last week to put these guys in a time out Kim! They were running wild while I was at school!!:rotfl:

Okay, we will talk about food very soon! ::yes::

Looks like you better get ordering those cookie cutters! :darth: It's just a little over 6 months until April you know! :lmao:

great pics..nope,you are not missing anything!! Well, me and ds11 and dd always go watch the Flights of Wonder bird show while Mike and ds14 go do Everest...it's really cute and if you haven't seen it you might consider it. Now, I wouldn't take extra time to go do it, but it you plan to be there and need a filler then go for it! Its fun and learn-y, but the kids loved it....we also like to watch the 'painters' who juggle and all that over by dinorauma...again, just something to pass time...wouldn't go over there just for that.
I agree--it's #4 on our list too---we usually go for them to ride EE and we just hang around at the bird show then let them play at the dino dig...I reeeeeaaaally don't like that thing--and the kids ADORE it!!! I nearly fall asleep of boredom the whole time they are there!!!YUCK!! In fact, I don't even have it on the books for this trip!!! I do have a 1/2 day open for them to pick what they want to do for re-dos one day...cuz you never know what they will be just dying to do again! I have the other parks scheduled at least twice, but if I asked them about AK on this morning and everybody just looked kinda bored and said "Naaaah"...kinda guiltily!!! LOL

AK is 4th on my list too mainly because it always seems crowded and hot when I have been there.

I like the dinosaur ride, but have not tried EE or Kali River Rapids. My Ddil got so wet on KRR that it took her sneakers 2 days to dry out if it wasn't for getting wet I would be tempted to try it since I love the turning and spinning .

I had planned on doing the Finding Nemo The Musical this trip before I switched AK to our last day after looking at crowd projections and finding out the Christmas parade would not start till later in Nov. I even had an ADR at Tusker House to get the tix for the show.

We normally only go to AK for a partial day too and since we will be only 5 mins away from AK staying at AKV it is a better choice for our last day.

I did not even enjoy the safari last year, the wait in line was too long and once again did not spot any lions , I have been hopeing to see them everytime since the first time I went to AK

I like looking at the animals and taking pics of them but I just love the other parks all better.

I was thinking of skipping AK this time but DS and Ddil both have never been there. My DS did not go with us in '98 the year it opened as he was living in NY at the time and it was not there the last time his wife visited WDW

Where do you eat when at AK? Since I cancelled Tusker House I decided on Flame Tree BBQ,it seems to get good reviews for a CS, for the life of me I can not recall where we ate last year but I know we did :rotfl:
