Another great memory was getting to see the Gingerbread House in progress at the GF. :santa: We weren't sure when the gingerbread house was set to open last year, but took a little trip over the the GF one day before heading to MK to take a look. Well, it was in progress and scheduled to open the day after we left! I was a little disappointed at first, but we ended up really enjoying our time there just watching them work on it. And discovered that DS9 (the kid who hates all food) loves gingerbread! :upsidedow

I hope that weather forecast holds true. That would be fantastic weather! :sunny:

As for my favorite memories, I guess most of the best ones were from our first trip with kids, when DD was 7 and DS was 4. Just seeing them experiencing Disney for the first time was pricesless. DS being afraid of most everything that first day and then gradually coming around. Both kids getting autographs and so excited to see the characters. DH losing DD in MK. That wouldn't qualify as a best memory  but it is definitely something we will never forget. (happy ending-we found her with a CM ;)) Just all those special memories of your children going to Disney for the first time.

Our second trip was when DD was 16 and DS was 13. It was fun being there during Mardi Gras and wearing our beads and not sweating buckets like we do in the summer. First time at AK and going to Universal and IOA.

Last trip was in 2006. DD had just graduated college and DS had graduated from high school. We surprised them (ahead of time) with the trip at a restaurant. It was a celebration of their hard work so that was special. First time we flew to Disney (I hate to fly but it beats 11 hours driving). DDP for the first time-loved that! DH getting kind of sick on RNRRC-first day, first ride of the trip. We had to sit down for 30 minutes until he felt better. Again, not a best memory, but one we still laugh about today.

I'm sure there are more, but this is what comes to me now. :)

Shelly, your pictures of the Gingerbread house are GREAT! I have this on my list of things to do, and I'm hoping they are setting it up when we go.

Shelly..which week in November did you go last year? Just wondering if the gingerbread house will be there for our trip.

Oh, our December trip was so awesome! I have great memories of the Osborne lights too. Although your pictures are better!

I remember going to tour the resorts and at Boardwalk and Beach Club looking at the gingerbread and chocolate creations - counting the hidden Mickeys!

One of my best memories is our kids' first trip in 2004. We took my parents as well - it was their first visit too. It was so fun to see the reactions of all of them - my Dad just kept shaking his head as if he couldn't believe all this stuff! The girls were quite little - almost three and almost one. There was a lot of pointing!!

Our last trip was special for a different reason - we actually took it easy and didn't rush around! It was great! We still got to do most everything we wanted to - and we all got to ride BTMRR!! The girls loved it! That was cool.

I can't believe you get to check the weather already!!! WOW!

Peanut - most of the resort decorations are done by mid November - for sure by Thanksgiving. We were there 12/5/10 and the gingerbread house and all that was complete.

Love the gingerbread memory!!!:lovestruc

Hope you guys get to see it again and DS who loves the gingerbread gets to have some again!

You can make gingerbread- in the soft form, like a cake. He might like that too. It's a box mix in the cake section.

You're so very close! You leave next week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

looks like you're going to have perfect weather. I think I see some pool days in there a bit.....:rolleyes1
The clown slide awaiteth yo' behind.:rotfl2:

Shelly - I had my first crazy Disney dream last night. We went and checked in to CBR and they took us to our room, but we had to use stepping stones to get there. I requested to be moved the next day, because they didn't have any other rooms available, and the stepping stones were rough with the stroller.

It was kind of sad though, because the room they gave us was huge. It even had a dining room!

:lmao:

I needed this laugh today...not only does the clown freak me out, but I will remember this comment forever more, maybe that would be how i'd get over my fear of the clown!

Thank you!
