Magicians & Jugglers & a Clown Slide, OH MY! We're going to the BWI... A Nov 2010 PTR

Well dang -I have a ton to catch up on.

Yes, we will always have BRG. :rotfl:

Moondoggie?

I had to go look at Sci-Fi's menu, I was pretty certain I'd never seen a Moondoggie on it!!

The first time we went to Sci-Fi it was for lunch. DH and I just got grilled chicken sandwiches and they were decent. We loved their milkshakes though! :lovestruc The best ever!!! So when we went back last year we went for dinner. DH got the Shrimp Pasta and loved it. And I got what is called the Beef and Blue Salad - "Sliced butcher-tender steak with a Wedge of Iceberg Lettuce with Blue Cheese Dressing, Tomatoes and Bacon". Except I made a few changes to it! No bacon and no blue cheese dressing. Added shredded cheddar, fries, and ranch dressing! It was so good. :cloud9: The steak was done just right and so tender. Plus the milkshakes were awesome again!
well, I did say it was eons ago.

:rotfl2:
If I ever go back to Sci Fi, it will have to be without Mark- he really didn't care for it. Your salad sounds good, but hold the fries for me.:rotfl2: When you saked for fries on it- did the waitress ask you if you wanted them on the side????

Your DS's pic with the cupcake would win awards. Precious.:lovestruc He has grown up so much- both of them have. It's sad that they are getting so big now.

I used to love CHH- last time we were there in May I was not as fan. Their salad that I used to get- the Harvest salad- was just nasty. It had pressed chicken in it. Mark loves their tuna salad, but I know you don't like fish, so that wouldn't be good for you. There are other salads but I can't recommend that one anymore.
Never been to Casey's.
Cosmic ray's - I think their rotisserie chix is a good deal- but it is a pain to have to stand in line at different counters b/c you just know everyone wants soemthing different.
The Plaza--- that was one I think I told you to go to-- so not only do we have BRG, we have the Plaza! woo hoo! it is good, we like it there.
Dole Whip! Did you ever get to the place in PGH that has them????
They had some in Branson over the summer. The kids took pics of me grinning.
:rotfl:

Epcot food.:lovestruc
Love the Boloungerie-- yum --- creme brulee is so good.
We like Sunshine Seasons- we go every time!:confused3:lmao: Mark likes their sushi.
Garden Grill-- just ehhhh for us. It takes a long time to eat there.
Coral Reef------- that was the night I ditched you. Sorry.:headache: We ate at Les Chefs instead. Still haven't eaten at CG in all these trips.
Not a fan of Electric Umbrella but I ate there years and years and years ago so it might be better now for us.
Our Le Cellier experience in May was wonderful as always (the risotto..............:cloud9:;):lmao:) but I know how it is when you have a bad time. you don't want to go back again.:guilty:
San Angel............. I am scared for you. I really did like it last time, but I know how we two are. We do now have BRG/Plaza. you'll have to text me and tell me how much you hated SAI. :rotfl:

And finally- you have to get a Kaki Gori- I know we've talked about it before- must be Strawberry, and it has to be when you are hot. It is soooooo good.:cutie:

Great updates!!!!!!!!!:yay:

Everything sounds good so far. My favorite MK snack is the cream cheese stuffed pretzel in Tomorrowland! Our favorite CS, hands down, was CHH. Excellent shrimp!

Eating at Epcot is no problem for us! My favorite snack there was the school bread in Norway! YUM! We have eaten at several restaurants there too and liked them all. We enjoyed SAI personally. I know a lot of people don't like it, but we did. The chips and salsa are grocery store style, but we didn't care. The atmosphere cannot be beat anywhere at Disney, IMO. The scenery and the mariachi bad............. :cloud9: And our entrees were very good too. But I will admit that we are not nearly as picky as others, so MANY times we will like something when others don't. I think you should try it though. You will never know for sure if you don't.

I have no suggestions but am making a list from all of yours!

Never been to Boulangerie Patisserie but after seeing that table full of sweets it looks like a great place to spend some snack credits! :thumbsup2

Glad I could help! :rotfl: Yes, definitely check out Boulangerie Patisserie. :thumbsup2

Ok now that you have made me very hungry looking at all the lucious food pics, I will have to go make something for lunch but first I had to post my comments.

I already mentioned about Garden Grill and there food was excellent before they were a charactor restaurant, sorry to hear they have gone down hill.

I have gone to Coral Reef twice, never sat near the tanks either, first time I loved the food the last time not so much but that was on my solo trip with a freind 5 years ago so maybe it was an off night.

Trying Le Cellier for the first time this year, I hope they are good DH has wanted to eat there for years and years , but I am not a steak person so we always went someplace else.

Tried Biergarten for the first time last year and can not wait to go there again this trip, you truely feel like you stepped right into a little Germany town , plus I love buffets , I am one who loves a bite of this and a bite of that plus there is free entertainment.

Can I say I detested eating in the Sunshine Seasons in the Land last year ? It was loud and crowded took forever to find a seat after standing in line forever and the food was just Yuk. We won't be going back there again or I should say I won't be.

Yorkshire County Fish Shop in UK is good as Is Rose and Crown but a lot cheaper.

We had pastries once from someplace in France might have been where you mentioned not sure but they were to die for.

I have a ressie for Via Napoli for the night Epcot is open till midnight since we are only doing 2 lunches then plan on grazing the F & W Festival the rest of the day I made a late ressie there 9:30pm.
I do have a ressie for R & C that I am holding onto for Illuminations for now Just in case the Illuminations Cruise thing falls through for some reason.

Have you looked at the Menus for the F & W Fest yet? I started a list of what I want to try not finished yet but have these so far.......

Argentina-nothing interests me
Australia-grilled lamb chop with roasted Potatoe salad and Lamingto(sponge cake with choc sauce)
Belgium-Baked waffles with berry compote and whipped cream
Brail-nothing interests me
Canada-Chedder Cheese soup and Nanaimo Bar
China- Pork Pot Stickers and BBQ Chicken sticks
Ireland-kerrygold cheese selection
Morocco- Beef in a pita pocket and Baklava

Only having 2 days for Epcot I doubt I will have a chance to try everything I want to once I finish going through all the various menus

Did you find anything good for lunch? popcorn::

I didn't realize that Garden Grill didn't always have characters. . . Learn something new everyday!

I agree with you on Sunshine Seasons. Yuck!

I thought about Biergarten at one point, but ended up deciding it just wasn't for us. :confused3

DH would probably really like Yorkshire County Fish, but I don't eat fish. I used to, but the smell of it made me sick when I was pregnant with DS11 and to this day I still can't handle it. So maybe DH will want to get fish from there one day we are at Epcot. And sit very very far away from me. :rotfl:

No, I haven't looked at the F&W Festival menus yet. . . We are not exactly adventurous eaters, so I doubt there will be much we would want to try. But I will definitely have to take a look! ::yes::

 I think I did ask for the fries on the side. I do realize that if you are not from PA fries on a salad might seem a little foreign. :rotfl:

Nope, we never made it to that place in PGH for dole whips. I called once in the spring and they weren't open for the season yet. And then summer got away from us. They are probably closed again for winter already. :sad2:

I remember you saying that you weren't happy with CHH last time. So maybe I shouldn't give it a try? Or maybe that means I should??? :lmao:

Now that you mention it I do remember you ditching us in 2007!! I was keeping an eye out for you that entire meal and here you were eating somewhere else completely! :upsidedow

I am scared for me at SAI too. :scared: But how bad can it be really? It looks so nice in there. :cloud9: I will definitely let you know how it went right away!! And if I hated it, well we will always have BRG and the Plaza in common.:laughing:

A Cream Cheese Stuffed Pretzel sounds mighty good. :cloud9:

Glad to hear you have enjoyed SAI! That's okay if the chips & salsa are generic. :rotfl: The atmosphere will make up for it. As long as our entrees are decent we will be happy. :goodvibes

So we have hit the 30's today!!:goodvibes 39 DAYS to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dance3::woohoo::cool1: Considering this is the furthest out I have ever booked (11 months), it has been one long countdown. :hourglass

DS8's birthday is this Sunday. I went to the grocery store this morning to get him a $50 WDW gift card (they have fuel perks on gift cards! :thumbsup2) and all they had today were $500 gift cards. I hope they get the others in before the weekend! That's all he wants. We do birthday parties every other year now. So on the off party years (this year) they get to pick a $50 gift and also take a friend and go somewhere. He chose the WDW gift card and to go bowling this weekend. :upsidedow We are not bowlers, so I'm not sure why/how he came up with this idea. Should be interesting! :rotfl:

Yum!!!

We ate at EU, LC, the pastries place in France and CS place next to American Adventure on our last trip, last month. We were pleasantly surprised on how good everything tasted and was prepared. This was our second visit to WDW and we made a extra effort to try more dinning experiences this time around.

I do think that Epcot has the best dining options of all the parks. I do wish the portions were bigger, and the pricing is OK and what I expect to pay at a Disney theme park.

I did take pictures and plan to write about our trip soon over on the Mayer thread, but there are my thoughts so far.

The Yorkshire County Fish Shop is Logan's favorite place to stop in Epcot. He got Fish & Chips at least twice on our Honeymoon and at least once when we went last July. I have a difficult time finding food to eat in the World Showcase (well...everywhere really...), because while I always want to try something interesting, I don't want to hate it and starve, so Logan would get his Fish & Chips and I would wander around until I found something appetizing. He was usually hungry a long time before I was, so this worked for us, especially since the UK is near one of the "entrances."

I'm intrigued about going during F&W, because I think grabbing small portions from the carts might be fun. I'll definitely be stopping at Canada for the Cheese Soup, but I'm not sure about everywhere else.

As of now, if I get to book, I'm looking at doing the 7th or 8th through the 12th or 13th. I would love to stay longer, but I doubt Logan will go for it.

I love eating at Epcot!
We have enjoyed stuff from CS at China (egg rolls and orange chicken), Morocco (hummus/schwarma platters), Mexico (taco/churros/nachos), France (pastries!), and we used to get fries at the McD's as you enter from FW, but it's not McD's anymore. I know we've gotten stuff from American Adventure and the funnel cake stand too.

Get the joke? ;) I think it was DD who had the Moroccan food, which she really liked. I always like fish and chips, and I think I got chicken nuggets at Liberty Inn.

Next time I go to Disney, I will pay much better attention to our dining experiences! I was new to the Dis at the time, and didn't realize my memory would be tested later.

Wow you guys got to hit a lot of Epcot restaurants last month! :goodvibes Glad you enjoyed them. Can't wait to see your pics! :thumbsup2

I hope you are able to talk Logan into a November trip! :wizard:

I love eating at Epcot!

I do want to get a churro this trip. Never had one. :confused3

The only one on your list that we've tried is Le Cellier. We went for lunch and everyone really liked it. Of course, I don't recall what we each had, but I know my DH and I had a steak, probably the filet. Well, SAI must have been good, if it was bad surely you would have remembered that, right??? :rotfl:

I am intrigued by Teppan Edo, but the rest of the family isn't. :confused3 DH is not into eating with strangers, at all.

'Went get' :rotfl2: You are so funny!!!!

Yes, next time take notes and pictures!!! ::yes::

One day we are having lunch at Le Cellier and at Biergarten the other day.

I totally get the fish thing, and pregnancy, a lot of things I smelled made me sick when I was pregnant too, funny how that works

Those will be 2 nice lunches!! :goodvibes

My sense of smell is very sensitive anyway, and fish just puts me over the edge. :sad2: Funny how that has stuck with me for 12 years!!!!!

One last question: What the heck is a Kaki Gori?

I have to ask what is the Kaki Gori you guys are talking about ?:confused3

A Kaki Gori is flavored shaved ice. Like a snowcone. It's in Japan and they are supposed to be the best. I want to get a strawberry one! :goodvibes If I had to guess, DS11 will get strawberry & DS8 will get rainbow. And DH will get nothing!! :rotfl: Not really his kind of thing!

Added a Kaki Gori to my list of "Firsts" the strawberry and tangerine sound good but not sure about the honeydew melen :confused3: Will be hovering around Japan already since I plan on doing the "pick a pearl" this trip, in all my trips I have stopped and looked but never did it

In all my trips I have never even seen Pick a Pearl. :confused3 I want to find it this time and watch. Not sure if I'll actually do it or not. Maybe. . .
