Magicbands - where to buy?

I was thinking of buying our magicbands from disneystore.com. Is there a better selection in the park? Is there a favorite store? We're staying offsite.

I recommend the Disney Store App on your smartphone. That way you don't have to wait to get to the parks.

At last check, the Grumpy MagicBand can only be found on the app, not the online store. (the app has resort exclusives)

I've actually found some bands that you can only find in the theme park section of disneystore (although last week they appeared in the space mountain shop after the news of new bands came out), some are only in the shop disneyparks app and there are bands you can only find on property including ones you customize and they print while you wait.

If it's a limited edition you may not want to wait.

If you are flying into MCO, you can purchase them at the Disney stores there.

I'd wait until you get to the parks. Some shops have limited edition bands and you can make you're own bands..so their might be options you want that you can't get online

In tomorrow land next to space mountain is a shop that has a big selection. Also they have computers there were you can customize your own band if you do not like any that our on the shelf. They are made up in about 20 mins. Activating them to my disney experience was no hassle at all. We brought ours from there and had no problems. And yes there are some that are park exclusive that are sold in the parks.

We stayed off site last October and did a "throw away" campground (1 night stay) at Ft. Wilderness. It cost $64 total and we got 2 days of free parking ($40 value) plus 3 free magic bands ($39 value) so we actually saved money by doing it that way. I checked in online and we never went to the campground at all (though I had paid for it and it was there if we wanted to use it during our trip to Ft. Wilderness). Your whole party gets free magic bands if you stay on site plus you get free parking so you may want to run the numbers and see if that route is beneficial to you.

As an added bonus, when you stay on site you get your name (or any name) put on the back of the magic bands. We had all of ours done this way at no cost just from "staying" at a camp site for 1 night. Just make sure your "1 night stay" is in between 2 park days so you can utilize the free parking for 2 days, otherwise it won't work out from a cost standpoint.

I stayed offsite as well and bought ours from the Disney website. (For myself and the kids, anyway, my husband didn't want one.) I wanted to be able to link them all before we left. I noticed that the selections are constantly changing, even just the plain colors. So if you are looking for a specific color or design and it isn't available, check back in a day or two.
