I received my Magicbands for my upcoming trip starting April 29th. I wanted to switch the pucks on my two daughters' bands so their bands would each be two-toned one purple band/pink puck, and one pink band/purple puck). Was able to get 3 of the 4 screws out, but the last one must not have been put in correctly and would not come out. The screw is now stripped and will not be able to be removed.

Will Disney send me another one, or am I out of luck and they will just need to keep the bands as-is?

I would definitely call to ask. I bet they will replace it.

I switched one of mine to a MagicKeeper, and the screws were fine, but one of the "frames" would not fit correctly. I just used the frame that was with the original band to set it in the MagicKeeper.

When you buy a MagicKeeper, there are extra screws taped to the little screwdriver, in case you lose one in the transfer. (I realize that doesn't help you, since you can't get the original screw out and wouldn't have the screwdriver in any case. I'm just putting it out there for those who might be considering a Keeper!)

you can just buy a MB off Disney website ( shop disney) they are not that pricy they are 12.99 for the simple on closer like you get with your resort or you could get a limited addition one, for22.99- 32.99 ( I believe the 32.99 light up different color and plays sounds )

My question is where did you get a screwdriver that fit? I purchased two different eye glass kits and neither of them fit. We wanted to switch pucks too, but it might not happen since we leave on Friday.

I had the same issue! I was switching it to the magic keeper and the frame wouldn't fit right. So I sandpapered it until it fit properly.

i'm glad Disney is sending you a new magic band!

Interesting. I watched three videos before my MagicKeeper arrived, and all three people had trouble getting the frame to snap in place on the MagicKeeper. I thought it got warped from numerous attempts to get it right. Never occurred to me to use sandpaper on it.

I got mine to work going into the MagicKeeper the first time, and did not mess with it after that. (If anybody is trying, it works best if you snap it in place one "corner" at a time. I did bottom left, bottom right, top left, then top right. Don't try pushing in the middle of an "edge."

This is exactly why I was very disappointed when they used a screw to hold them in. First, who wants to mess with moving the puck around often when you have the such tiny screws to deal with and second, anyone that has ever tried to change a battery in a child's toy knows just how often those screws strip. Rendering it useless. The PP idea of a rubber band is great but not for the super tiny screws. No rubber band is thin enough to fit inside the super tiny screwheads.

That proved VERY difficult! I went through the same issue, but eventually found one at Home Depot. It was in a larger set of screwdrivers, but there were two that went to a exact point which is what you need. There cannot be any bit of flat at the end of the tip.

Hmmm... this issue with the screws is making me re-think how i was going to decorate my band. I was going to remove the puck so I didn't get any nail polish on it. Guess I'll just have to be extra careful and have the polish remover ready.

I bought the key fob with the carabiner when i got to WDW. It came with a small scredriver and a couple of extra screws. I was able to get everything swapped out but it was a challenge to get the puck and frame into the new fob but we were able to snap it in. I thought the carabiner was very cheap and had reservations of using it in fear it would break. I happen to have a key fob that i use for my work keys and used that and everything was fine. I got quite a few compliments from CM when I need to use my MB. They said they had not seen many of these fob but like how easy it was to use with out having to contort your wrist in various position to use it to buy things or get into the park.

I only sandpapered one small area. It didn't take much to get it to fit. Luckily I've got lots of sandpaper at my house - I've got 2 woodworking projects I'm currently working on.

Any other tips on getting stripped out screws out of a magicband? I've bought a replacement puck for my LE small world magicband. The screws were in so tight there is now no grip in them. I'm using the screwdriver i use for other puck removal so i know i've used the right one. It's not like they sell a SW band in the parks and i wanted to use this one. The elastic band tip doesn't work. A bit gutted tbh. I'm ok in sacrificing a couple of new screws out of my plain grey magicband to replace the knackered if needed.

A trick to get stripped screws out of something: Place a thin rubberband over the screwhead and press the screwdriver into the rubberband and start turning. The rubberband should grip the screw and allow you to remove it.
Thanks! I will have to remember this, because I seem to strip screws somewhat frequently.
