Magical secrets

Hi from another Jenna! I was going to tell you about the umbrella and rope at Hollywood Studios, but someone beat me to it! I do have a couple about Cinderella Castle, though. -In the Cinderella mosaics inside the castle, Anastasia and Drizella are shown with their faces red and green respectively. This shows they are "red with rage" and "green with envy". -Behind the castle, there's a Cinderella statue in a fountain. When you kneel to drink from the nearby water fountain, a crown painted in a wall behind will make it look like it's crowning Cinderella.

Wow I was wondering if there was something special with the statue. Thanks Jenna :)

About the statue of Cinderella - this area is also a quiet place that the Fairy Godmother wanders to - We did photos with her there in May! Also on this spot you can see the backside of the stage of Dream Along with Mickey. As the characters run back and forth from the stage, they will stop and wave to anyone standing in this area - in May Cinderella blew a kiss, Peter Pan saluted us, Maleficent shook her staff at us, and Mickey & Minnie blew kisses to us!
In EPCOT WS at Morocco there is a hidden door, referred by some as the "secret door." Most of the doors there are locked. This one is on the side of the museum and looks like all the other structure doors in Morocco. This one actually opens into the side of a meditation room.

These are great- thank you for everyone that posted! I love the overlooked little things :)

- Get a nice close look at the large caged spider while standing in line for the Jungle Cruise... Or better yet, have someone else do it for you. :)

- Check out Lady and the Tramps paw prints in the sidewalk outside the Italian Restaurant just inside the main entrance to MK.

- Keep a close eye on Madam Leota's gravestone when in line for the Haunted Mansion.

- Go inside the Sir Mickey's store in Fantasy Land to see Willie the giant from "Mickey and the Beanstalk and "The Brave Little Tailor", lifting the roof and taking a peek into the store.

- Have someone in your group try the Beverly soda at Club Cool in Epcot.

- The Many of Adventures of Winnie the Pooh ride used to be Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. At the beginning of the ride look for the portrait of Toad handing over the deed to Owl.

I've been going to WDW since it opened & only heard of a few of these. Yet another thing I love about the Dis!

The Red Phone Booths in EPCOT (England) can be used for both calling and answering. We've in the past called just to see who answered and where they are from.

That's awesome
I assume the number is in the booth

These are fun :) thank you thank you THANK YOU. I have just a big list now :) thank you for everyone who replied

I've always loved the mural at Spaceship Earth, on the right just as you're about to enter into the loading area. At first glance it looks kind of "spacey" and futuristic, but if you look closely you can see scenes from the history of communication, the theme of the ride. It's also original to the attraction, such a cool thing when so much else has changed.

At MK, my mom loved to have lunch at one of the window seats overlooking It's a Small World at Pinocchio Village Haus. So fun to watch all the boats full of guests heading off on their journey. It probably isn't very secret, since it's hard to get one of those tables, but it's a happy childhood memory for me. (BTW, the small upstairs seating area here apparently is lesser known and very pleasant!)

Thank you for sharing! I love reading all of these

Sounds like you'd probably enjoy hunting for Hidden Mickeys! You can find a lot online, but there's also a book you can buy- it's yellow and skinny.

The Spaceship Earth mural also has a hidden Mickey in it- look closely at the number 3 and tilt your head to the right to see it. :)

There's some outdated info on this link, but a lot of great stuff still there: www.wdwinfo.com/best-kept-secrets_MK.htm

You would probably also enjoy the book The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World. I bring that and my Hidden Mickey book with me every trip. :thumbsup2

Thank you! I love surprising my daughter with fun magical things lol :)

If you go to allears.net, click on "theme parks" then scroll down. On the left are links to "Overlooked Attractions" for each theme park. Some are a little out dated, but there's lots of good info.
