Magical Oct 4, 2014 Southern Caribbean

We are in the Atlanta airport awaiting our flight home from our Med. cruise. Barcelona--Ville Franche--La Spezia (Florence and Pisa)--Rome--Naples (Amalfi Coast and Pompei)--day at sea--Venice for most of two days--Dubrovnick Croatia--sea day--Malta--sea day--back to Barcelona and flying home. One of our tour guides kept urging us on by saying we were not on vacation, we were on a TOUR!!

This has convinced us we need more sea days and less port-intensive cruises. Tom's work schedule looks like our best bets to achieve this goal are either the East bound TA or the 5 day Caribbean with two CC days which we will do if the kids want to go. We would do the TA alone-together.

Have a great Southern Cruise--maybe we can do it when we retire.

Hi Jan Welcome home ! I agree 100 percent about the sea days. That is the only the downside to this cruise. These are new ports for us and we really want to see and experience them. It would probably be the only way we see Europe . Lol I am sure we will cruise together again someday.

Welcome back ! Thanks for sharing the video. It was fast, I had to watch it a couple of times so I saw all the pictures. The thread has been kinda quiet, you didn't miss much.

It was a fun trip The video goes quickly. I thought about adding a 3rd song and more pics, but I didn't want to bore people.

Glad to know I didn't miss much. Although, I am trying to keep up, I have been on a long date with my laundry machine. I think I have finally broken up with it for the week.

I am working a long day today then off tomorrow and Monday. I was thinking about doing some research about hotels near the airport. Is anyone thinking about taking Disney transportation from airport to port ?

I'm sorry. My mom showed up from DC. She usually takes my kids for the entire summer. Since I kept them, she came down for over a week. She will be gone Tuesday. Add to that, Nico was invited to play with liverpool's team aug 18th. He's 12, so I'm flying back across the pond with him. The coach is trying to change the dates because the other child invited is in regular school, so he would like to go over Labor Day week. This is why I homeschool Nico. So if opportunities like this come up, we can go no problem.

Not that you wanted long descriptive details about my crazy week, but there it is. LOL. I'm going to fly down Tuesday or Wednesday before the cruise, I think. It will give us time to explore the city before jumping ship. I don't think ill be on the Disney bus, but if Nico starts traveling more, we may just fly in Sat morning. He will be 8th grade, but still homeschooling, so school won't be an issue. Just soccer will be the deciding factor.

LOL! His other teammates don't homeschool. So it makes it harder when one or more want to go. For example, Brazil has invited 5 of the boys to play in their academy. Jan would be perfect (although their summer so hot for sure) because Brazilians are on summer break. However, the other kids can't go then.

So I am going crazy here. Nico and 1 other teammate were invited for Liverpool, but the other boy can't go then because the kids here start school the first week of Aug. So, now the plans are changing again. LOL! There was talk of going to Jamaica Aug 7th. Really??!!

I book trips years in advance (for example this cruise and the other cruises my kids are going on next year.) In the summer, my kids are asking to go to England and Ireland and then Disneyland Paris. I've already looked up dates prices and then Nico's coach explained that I really shouldn't make plans until he has dates. (I'm thinking, "Uh like the dates you have set for Aug this year"

Honestly, I am trying to be more go with the flow book last minute, but it is not the way I function.

Sometimes I wish I had a life that was more organized. But, I am trying to focus on the 3 cruises I have planned 2014 as well as Fiji and the quick trip to WDW labor Day weekend.

We are looking into booking this cruise. We did the 11 day southern Caribbean on the Wonder and loved it. Granada would be the only new port for us but we loved all the other ports. This would be our 19th Disney Cruise and we have 2 other couples that my book as well. No kids (that would be redundant in our family!)

Lol you sound like me ! I almost always plan my cruises in advance ! I have to be organized . My DH counts on it. Lol Have faith it will all work out in the end. Nico is a very lucky boy !! You do know this cruise won't be relaxing right ? Lol It will be very port intensive , we will need another cruise if just sea days to relax .
