Magical New Year's Cruise from Galveston 12/29/2012

We'd love to join a FE group if it's not too late! I already have lots of goodies ready! There are 7 of us. 4 grandparents, mom, dad, and a 9 year old boy! We can't wait! Let me know if one is going and if we can join:):)

OK, 6 cabins are now participating in the FE gift exchange. If you are in cabins 2017, 2135, 2137, 2500, or 7549, would you be so kind as to message me your email and I will foward you the excel spreadsheet I have created. Gift exchange items can be limited to one per cruise, or one per day; one per person or one per stateroom; and can be any age appropriate items you have purchased or crafted. Some ideas might include: magnets, handmade coasters, costume jewelry, pirate items, Disney items, small toys, soap, keychains, etc. Ideas can be found on facebook and Pinterest. I have seen some very creative ideas out there! Good luck! See you onboard!:yay:

Is there any way we could still join? This is our first Disney Cruise and just found this wonderful site! Thanks for considering.:)

Hello all, I hope everyone is doing well. We've had another member find our group and would like to participate in the FE exchange. At this point, most of you may be finished with your gifts and I feel that it's not fair to ask you to create/buy more gifts this close to the cruise date. Also, some of our fe gift exchange cruise mates may not even check this site again prior to the cruise. So we won't plan on formally increasing the FE gift exchange. With that being said, if Disney3johnsons wants to post their cabin numbers, names and ages, and if any of you have extras you'd like to deliver to those cabins, please feel free to do so. Whatever y'all choose to do outside the excel spreadsheet group we have started is up to you. I want everyone to be happy as this is meant to be a fun exchange! Of course there are no guarantees, but maybe those who didn't find us until recently will get some happy surprises at their cabin!

Thanks for letting us participate! We already have goodies, just didn't know how to sign up until i found this great site! Karen (Mom), Steve (Dad), Kyle (son-age 9)

Let me know how to access your spreadsheet so we know where to deliver! Can't wait!!!

Disney3johnsons: In order to participate, we will need your cabin number and ages of participants, and any known food allergies. That way, if anyone has extra goodies they can deliver to the correct stateroom. I hope you have fun with this, as you are unofficially on the list for "extras". Happy cruising!

I went to the DCL site today and it looks as though our cruise is sold out. The date did not show up to be able to book it.

Interesting!popcorn::

I think I saw that the ship will still be decorated for Christmas, right? Is there a Gingerbread house on the Magic? I saw pics about the one on the Fantasy.

SO EXCITED!! Less than TWENTY days!!! Telling my baby on Christmas Eve. 19 more sleeps til cruise day! 14 sleeps til I tell her and 15 sleeps til Christmas day! What an amazing next 3 weeks!!!!

So excited! Can't believe how quickly it is coming up!

I did hear they leave the decorations up through New Years so that is great! I don't know about the gingerbread house! I hadn't heard about that.

See you all soon!!!!

Does anyone know how much they charge for extra wave phones? I saw info about when they first came out that it was $3.50 per day. I just didn't know if that price has changed.

Also, how dressy is everyone getting for pirate night and formal night?

Hey all. I'm a 24 year old Medical Student who's parents are AWESOME and decided to surprise the family with a New Years Disney Cruise.

Who's stoked? This guy! Hope to meet a few people before the cruise. :)

Oh and by the way if there is anybody around my age/anybody has kids around my age that would like to hang out over the course of the cruise please dont hesitate to let me know! :)

Can't wait to get onboard. Didn't know the Christmas decorations would still be up! That's a bonus! We're wearing pirate shirts for pirate night, and probably a knee length dress for formal night. We're just not that interested in dressing up this cruise. The last cruise we way overpacked, and didn't wear some of it, and spent a lot of our time trying to wear everything! Going more casual this time. See you soon! Happy cruising!

we are wearing pirate Halloween costumes and my dd (7) is wearing a fancy dress for formal night. Mine is just a cocktail type dress. Knee length and sleveless with some blingy heels.

Does anyone know if a cruise is affected by a port strike? There is a rumored port strike on 12/29 in Gulf and East coast ports.

That is the same day I sail on the Magic out of Galveston???
:crazy2:

I think that only pertains to cargo ships and containerized shipments. I don't think cruises will be affected.

Hi all. Does anybody know if the busses used for transportation from the airport/local hotels to the port are the traditional DCL busses or are they charter busses? I'm assuming Charter, but you never know...

Weather this far out is completely unreliable and can be taken with a grain of salt. I do know however, given the above words, that there is potential for a huge blizzard Xmas day and day after in Oklahoma and North Texas.

Just something to keep an eye on for those from OKC, DFW or flying through Dallas.

Where are you seeing that? I live in the DFW area and our forecast says 70 for Christmas Eve and high 50s Christmas Day and the days following. Chillier nights, but clear skies.

I'm not opposed to a blizzard, I'm a total snow bunny. And Texas weather is completely unreliable so it could very well be 70 one day and 2 feet of snow the next hahaha!
