Magical Mouse Double Stroller Swap.....CLOSED!!!

Thank you Jodi for letting us know your thoughts. As I am next to have it and am going straight there from a business trip, I think I would rather just fork over the cash to rent a stroller than spend the time repairing this one. Had I known earlier that the stroller was in such poor shape, I would have prepared for it. But, given that I am just a few days away from my trip, I cannot commit to making all of the repairs and am not comfortable taking my chances on it. I will be sure to get the stroller to the next swapper's hotel by the previously arranged date.
 
Thanks Jodi for giving us your honest review. I am very disappointed as I joined this swap early (before the "free swap" time) and was really looking forward to using it. I am on a tight budget and can't afford to rent one at the parks so I hope some of the repairs are sufficient but it doesn't sound like it will make it until mid Nov.:sad2:
 
Don't get too discouraged... I think if everyone in the next few weeks does a little on it it will last a few more months. I just had higher expectations due to previous swaps so we were a bit more annoyed than if we had been aware of some of the issues. That is why I wanted to be really descriptive so people using it in the next few weeks aren't surprised.

I just thought I would post that I heard through another swap I'm in that POP has incorporated a new procedure where if a stroller is left there longer then overnight they put it outside free for the public to take. They have had that stroller go missing and that is what they were told the procedure is there.
 

When we dropped a stroller at Pop in Dec and again when we dropped this one at the Contemporary a couple days ago we were told both times that baggage claim would hold items up to 14 days at the resort. Both times we spoke to the "manager" or whatever his or her title is of baggage claims for both resorts. So I assume they would know what they were talking about. But who knows... :confused3

Not trying to horde in on your swap but wanted to let you know our experince with INSTEP.

Instep strollers have a 1 year warranty. SO if this stroller in under a year old and the swap leader still have the invoice or email where she bought it from...instep will replace the seat for free. It take about 15 minutes to remove the 12 screws with a phillips screwdriver and put the new seat back on.

Sorry guys I have been without the internet for about a week. Thanks to Parkersmomma for the info. I will be calling Instep in the morning to see what I can do about the seat. Depending on how fast I can get the seat, I am only about an hour from JeMarie and maybe I can get the seat to her before she goes. I will update tomorrow after I have talked to them.

I will to the best of my ability to get the stroller to proper working order while I am down there. It is sad that the stroller has been abused as it has.

UPDATE

I ordered the new seats for the stroller...they said shipping is 3-10 days.

I did also ask about the tires, customer service said I would need to replace the inner tubes on the tires. Also for the handlebars the foam is not replacable so I am going to try and find something in the mean time to use as a remedy.


I am really hoping that for the sake of the swap we can keep this stroller maintained until Jan....Please Please treat this as if it was your own. There are not any funds for replacement parts. So anything that may be needed is going to have to come out of pocket. It would be greatly appreciated that anyone that would like to help in donating parts as we need that are not under warranty would be appreciated.

Thanks Nikki! Just let me know if there is anything I can/need to do! I'm definitely not worried about whether the seat gets replaced before I get there, but a little concerned about the tires?
 
Glad to hear they are able to help us with our seat issue. If there is anything I could do while I'm down there, please give me a heads up so I can pack what I need.

The seat has arrived!!! I don't think I will be able to get it to JeMarie...but will be taking it down with me next week and hopefully getting a grasp on what else needs to be done.

The person before me (cant w8 4 disney) has not responded to pm's. She has not posted since 04-15-09 (anywhere on the boards, not just here) Without here it's a two week wait (roughly) what should we do?
 
We may be interested in a swap for Oct 2-3 till Oct 8-9th. I PMed you already. DD will be at SSR on the 2nd. We can help fix what we can if needed. Such as changing the seat or bringing something with us to improve handles or something.
 
QUESTION:
I am using the stroller Nov 1-7th and am staying in Windsor Hills. The week after me is blocked and the next person who is using it is also staying at Windsor Hills. Where do I leave the stroller??? Its not like on propery where they have guest services.
