I am trying to put together a list of the little *extra magic moments* that we should try to fit in.

So far I have:

The flag retreat participation for veterans.
(Ask about at City Hall)

Waking Tinkerbell.
(Be the first to ask about it at Tink's Treasures)

Paintbrushes at Tom Sawyer island
(Be amongst the first at TSI and look around)

Haircut at Barbershop
(self explanitory)

Future Rider certificate
(If my son happens to not measure up :( )

Are there any others and how do you go about doing them?

Thanks in advance!

Asking to ride up front on the monorail. Many times they will give a magic moment certificate to a child for that. If not, it's a neat experience anyway. :)

Helping open Toontown for the day. Your child/children might be able to get a lot of attention from the characters if they are up front for the rope drop.

What about being the "family" to raise the flags at WL. I don't know if you have to be staying there, but we were there in December and saw a family doing this....

if you are eating at liberty tree tavern , your family can "ring in the lunch." you go up to the upper story balcony and ring a bell while repeating, "let freedom ring." pretty cool. we got a photo and a certificate.

If you go to Belle's Storytime near the castle, your kids could get picked to help Belle act out her story. It is SO cute. She picks kid's from the audience to play Cogsworth, Lumiere, Mrs. Potts and Chip! Then she picks a DAD to play The Beast! Too funny!

Get to the garden "theatre" about about 15 minutes early and get seats up front. No guarantee you'll get picked of course, but even if not, it's a very cute show and you get to meet Belle afterwards.

I have one! Try and see the Main Street Trolly Dancers! According to another post they perform at 9:25, 10:20, 11:20, and 12:05. We saw them last year and it was just one of those cool, magical Disney moments :flower: .

Here is the link a thread made earlier about them

It's a cute show. We got there early last year, however, to get a seat upfront and they picked kids from the back!

I just love all the entertainment at EPCOT in the evenings!!! I love it when you find some entertainers from some part of the world you don't know much about.

And I love making connections with the CMs from around the world. Learning about their towns and what they like about America.

These really are magical moments for me and my family!!!

Make sure you take time to just look around and take it all in. Sounds kind of silly, but it's a magical thing in itself. I saw in your sig that you are taking grandparents for the first time, watch their reaction to things like the castle the first time they see it.

Have a great time!

If you have a dinner reservation and the park has closed before you leave the restaurant walking through the park to the exit is such a wonderful feeling. It's so quiet and magical.

How do you get one ? I have never heard of this Future rider certi.

We stayed at CBR and in the gift shop there was a steel drum with instructions on how to play different songs. My kids would have done that all day ! After they played a song a CM gave them a Magical Moment Cert.

the sad thing is I have been down there a dozen times and never seen them :rotfl: I am going to make a point of seeing them this fall

I dont remember if you said it was your first trip or not. If it is, the entire trip will be one magic moment ;)

EPCOT items easily missed...

1) Reverse Waterfall outside Imagination Pavilion
2) Sassy talking trashcan in Future World, near the Electric Umbrella restaurant, next to Innoventions
3) Email a picture cyber-postcard of yourself from the IBM exhibit in Innoventions West
4) Send a video clip (with audio) from the Internet Zone presented by Disney.com over at Innoventions East
5) Jammitors, rhythmic musicians dressed like janitors playing trash cans, can also be found in the Plaza
6) "Secret Garden?" follow the path along the side of the Rose & Crown Pub and you'll find the nice little sitting area there by the lagoon
7) Talking drinking fountains that will talk back to you: A) Face the "Fountain of Nations" with Spaceship Earth behind you. The talking water fountain is outside Mouse Gear, on your left. B) There's another to the right of the magic/play fountain between World Showcase and Future World. C) The third is behind Innoventions West, near the restroom.

Most of the resorts have their own magical moments, like opening the pool, opening the merchandise shops, etc. Try going to the pool right before the lifeguards come out; there may be a magical moment!

Pulling the sword out of the stone at MK

I have a picture of my son with the sword in the stone by the carousel. Can that sword be pulled out or is it somewhere else?

Please tell me more about "waking tinkerbell"

Thanks,

There is a little show called the Sword in the Stone ceremony. It's a little show where Merlin comes out and picks a child to help him "pull" the sword out of the stone. It's really cute.

"Waking up Tinkerbelle" happens when the first family to go to Tinkerbells's Treasures in Fantasyland gets to "Wake Up" Tinkerbelle. I believe that the child gets to tap Tink's box with a wand and then she will "fly" around the store. That one is getting harder to do as families will now race to get there.
