Magical Moments to not miss

There is a little show called the Sword in the Stone ceremony. It's a little show where Merlin comes out and picks a child to help him "pull" the sword out of the stone. It's really cute.

"Waking up Tinkerbelle" happens when the first family to go to Tinkerbells's Treasures in Fantasyland gets to "Wake Up" Tinkerbelle. I believe that the child gets to tap Tink's box with a wand and then she will "fly" around the store. That one is getting harder to do as families will now race to get there.

Thanks so much Joanna for the advice!
I will keep it in mind and see if we can be the 1st family to wake up tinkerbell.

Also, thanks for the tips about Tom Sawyers Island.
I didn't know about the paintbrushes and this sounds like something fun to search for too!

To elaborate a little on the sword in the stone..."Merlin" picks out a couple people from the audience to pull the sword out of the stone. Of course he picks adults or "strong" looking kids first and they are unable to pull out the sword...by the way I have a priceless picture of my dh on our honeymoon with a look of surprise because the sword actually does wiggle a little bit if you try to pull it out :rotfl2: . Then Merlin picks another member of the audience - it was a small boy when we were there - and he actaully does pull it out of the stone...just like the story is told. Anyway it is really cute and a great picture opportunity too (even if you don't get picked).

i just remembered our magical moment in Magic Kingdom 2 years ago.
We took advantage of the extra morning hour and arrived at the park at opening. We took the Railroad to the back of the park to Toontown.
We had to wait there about 5 minutes waiting for toontown to open.
Alice in Wonderland and Mad Hatter approach the small crowd and ask for a child to help open toontown.
Alice asks "who is the little mermaids prince?" My daughter shouts out "eric"
Alice takes my dd age 7 by the hand and escorts our entire family to Mickeys Country House while the rest of the public stays behind the barricades.
My dd is given a magical key to open Mickeys door and is greeted by Mickey himself. Mickey takes my dd by the hand and gives our family a personal tour of his house and then we are given a complimentary photo of the event and magical moments certificate (signed by Mickey of course!)

I would say that they spent 15 minutes with us and it was a disney moment like no other we have ever experienced!

How do you get one ? I have never heard of this Future rider certi.

From my understanding, when a child goes through the line for, say, Splash Mountain and he/she isn't quite tall enough they can give them a certificate that says something along the lines of "Future Splash Mountain Rider", and the next time you come to the park the child can use that certificate as a front of the line pass when they are tall enough to ride.

At least that's the jist I got off of another post.

I dont remember if you said it was your first trip or not. If it is, the entire trip will be one magic moment ;)

I grew up in a family that took yearly trips to Disneyland, and since moving to Florida after getting married I have been to WDW once.
Although I grew up with Disneyland, every trip I have taken since the first has still been a magical moment. :earboy2:

Thanks everyone, BTW.
Will definitly have to copy and paste alot of the info here to print.

Now I really wish we were staying at a resort. . . sounds like the magic truly does extend to all corners of your vacation.
Maybe, if I can convince DH to let me rent DVC points. . . . . .

My daughter has had a number of "magic moments"-

She was chosen (twice) to participate in The Festival of the Lion King at AK;
She was chosen to march in the MK parade (and play the drums on the Lion King float)
She was asked to help Pooh make a pancake at Crystal Palace, during breakfast.

Each time, it's a memory she doesn't forget. She still talks about Pooh putting honey on her pancake! :lovestruc

I guess this could be considered magical....being the First Family of the Day on Buzz Lightyear. They give you your pictures for free and a nice MK certificate stating you were the first for the day. Definately unexpected and somewhat magical! :flower: Also, riding up front with the driver on the monorail. :wizard:

what a great thread!!! going to try them all! :goodvibes

Helping open Toontown for the day. Your child/children might be able to get a lot of attention from the characters if they are up front for the rope drop.
DD got to do that back in May, and that's how I got the priceless picture of her with Snow White that's in my signature. Cinderella, Snow White, and Aurora each took a child by the hand, and led them to their room in the Toontown Fair tent. Cinderella led them in opening the door ("Bibbidy, Bobbidy, Boo!), and then took the three kids and their parents into the room where we had about 10 minutes alone with the princesses. It was so magical! When we got home, I ordered the picture the Disney photographer took of DD and Snow White with her "autograph" on it from the Photo Pass site. When it arrived, I gave it to my DD, and before I could tell her where it came from, her jaw dropped, and she said, "You mean, Snow White sent this to me?!". So I played along, and told her that Snow White sent her the picture with her autograph so DD could always remember that day. I love it that she thinks it came from Snow White!

Also, Magical Moments can happen at places like Downtown Disney, as well. DD and I were in Mickey's Pantry while DH finished his dinner at Earl of Sandwich, and DD struck up a conversation with the CM's at the register. They made a big deal about her being as pretty as a princess, and asked for her autograph in their book they keep under the counter. They then gave her a MM certificate and a free pin off their lanyards. Disney CM's can be great about turning an ordinary moment into a magical one!

What a great thread! We have done a few, Tink and some of the Epcot ones. But here are some more...

Ladybug release at the Poly I beleive it is at 11:00 am a few days a week.

and not really "magical" but alot of fun are the entertainers on the Boardwalk at night, the Juggler is really good!

I had a thread on the Magical Moments Certificates a few months ago. There were several more ideas there.

can you still decorate the tree at the christmas shop at the mk? i can remember seeing a lil sign that says today's tree was decorated by_____(fill in the blank) a magical moment i had last summer was in italy and these masked men walk around and hand out roses. i was pulled out and danced with and got a kiss on the hand. so special.

Well, my family thinks its pretty silly, I think, but...

At some point after the announcement is first made that MK is closing, and then at some interval (30 minutes?) thereafter until the park closes, the castle will suddenly change colors every few seconds. Then, a voice will come over the sound system around the castle, and offer a heartfelt thanks for sharing your time with the folks at Disney, and wish you safe passage until you return again.

I don't know, it probably sounds a bit hokey, but after a wonderful day at the park, its a blissful feeling to sit quietly on the sidewalk in front of the castle, the warmth of the pavement spreading through your tired legs, listening to that soothing voice. The park is nearly empty, the lights are twinkling in the background. You feel like they are really talking to you.

I've told this before, but...on our last trip, we spent our last night at MK. After getting our good night kiss, we walked out of the park, down main street, my DS5 holding my DW's hand. We walked quietly relishing the last moments of a really fun day. My DS finally broke the silence when he looked up at my wife and said, "You know what? This is my best day ever."

Still brings tears to my eyes. Every child should have days like that.

I don't know if this is a magical moment but in my opinion its not to miss...

I like getting cookies and sitting in the side street of Main Street way down the back of the street...anyway you are under a dance school and a voice school and every so often you will hear the classes start up...kind of fun.

Also in Epcot don't miss the talking water fountain. Great fun to get the kids with on a first trip.
