Magical Gatherings

We are going in October with a party of 9. Is there any benefit for us to be an official "magical gathering?" I don't plan on doing any expensive extras like fireworks cruise or dinner parties with wine. Has anyone done one of these gatherings and was there anything extra special about it?

If you're all staying at a WDW resort, the biggest benefit of traveling as a "Magical Gathering" is that you can have your hotel rooms adjacent to each other and you can make PS's for larger groups. It's just an easier way to book your stuff if your group is large.

If you're not planning on doing any of the Grand Gathering events, then it's probably a "six of one, half-dozen of another" kind of thing for you.

We got a Grand Gathering number for our June trip. So far we havent booked any of the Grand Gathering events but a big benefit for me was that when booking your ps they would make sure your tables were next to each other in the resturants.

We just did the magical gatherings wishes cruise and it was great. It ws $30 per person. This included a dessert bar and interaction with characters befor the cruise. The captian of the boat was a pirate and he sang songs and told jokes. It was really good. The wishes fireworks was awsome, a great view. It was well worth the 30 per person. That is really the only benefit we found from having signed up for magical gatherings.
