I dont know if this is the right thread but here is my question:

Last Easter my family and I were walking out of the Contemporary (my kids love the arcade there:) ) anyway we were going to get on the boat to head back to Fort Wilderness when we were told we had to wait and behind us came a whole line of different families heading toward two boats with captain hook and mr. smee. We were told they were going to watch the fireworks out on the water.

My question... is that a magical gathering thing or is it something else? Also what is it called so I can look it up. Please help thanks

Yes, that is the "Magical Fireworks Voyage", part a Magical Gathering function. You also get to meet Peter Pan at the end of the Voyage as well.

Hi MagicalMommy and Welcome to DIS!!! I see you're from Maryland. Where abouts? I'm here in Winchester, VA. Anyways, for a Magical Gathering you need 8 or more people of ticket bearing ages (3 and up) to be considered for a Magical Gathering. Magical Gatherings helps Disney link reservations together if you have a large party traveling together, helps to block off a set amount of rooms so everyone can be close to one another if staying at the same resort, helps with making Dining Reservations for everyone to attend together, etc.... Also, if you book under Magical Gatherings you can purchase different gathering events such as the Magical Fireworks Voyage, Illuminations Dinner and Dessert Party with special VIP section to view Illuminations, Safari dinner, breakfast I believe at Tony's in MK...just different events. Each one is a separate cost though. Like the Fireworks Voyage I believe is $30 and the Illuminations Dinner and Dessert Party was like $50.

Again, Welcome to DIS!!

Thanks for the info MariaEllerºoº, I am from Southern Maryland Charles County. If everyone goes, we will need to stay at FW. We have purchased a new RV everyone else will be in cabins. :laundy:

The Safari dinner sounds interesting, I think I will check it out.

:cool1: :thumbsup2

My family did a Grand Gathering just this past spring break and we did the Magical Fireworks Voyage (there were four boys, 8,6,5, and 3). It was a blast! While waiting for the fireworks, there was storytelling and Capt. Hook had a sword fight with my DS and nephew.

We also did the Illuminations Dinner and Dessert, which was wonderful. You can pick which restaurant to eat at, and then you have a reserved section for the Illuminations show. Really good.

They are a tad pricey, as those $30-$50 are per person (a little less for the child rate), but, IMHO, well worth the money, especially if this is a once in a lifetime gathering, as it was for us. Not only was my whole family there, but my brother's wife's whole family as well.
