So, maybe I'm getting older... but I have this phrase written on a piece of paper in my "trip planning folder" and I have no idea what it means. It must have been good because I thought enough to write it down....
It's not the Illuminations Cruise because I have that on the same piece of paper! Does anyone know of another speciality cruise?

Thanks!
Sheryl

DW offers a Wishes Cruise. You pick up the cruise at the Contemporary Marina and ride out to to watch the fireworks from the lake. We took this cruise while on the Platinum Plan but I learned about it from my itinerary planner. I'd never heard of it before. This is the same cruise they offer for Magicial Gatherings (though, I am not sure where they pick up for that). We had a delightful time and I actually enjoyed it much more than the Illuminations Cruise we'd experienced the week before. DH prefers Illuminations. I highly recommend the Wishes Cruise, it was magical. :flower1:

The Magical Fireworks Voyage is a Grand Gatherings Event. You must be participating in a Grand Gathering in order to book one of these cruises. There are specialty cruises leaving from all of the Magic Kingdom Hotels ... they are just like the Illuminations cruises except that you view Wishes. We try to book specialty cruises on each of our trips to WDW. The views are great and the kids really enjoy them.

You can also pick it up at The Poly. You can share a cruise with others as well, I posted on the Illuminations Cruise thread and filled my whole boat, so instead of paying $150 I think we each paid around $12 and I had the opportunity to meet other DISers. Before the fireworks the captain takes the "Party boat" around the lake and gives a little tour. You get to see the "shoe tree" and other neat things. Its certainly fun. But be prepared to not hear the music quite as well out on the boat. :wizard:

We did the Grand Gatherings "Wishes" cruise in August and it was wonderful! We had 16 people in our party and we shared the boat with 3 other parties. It is a larger boat than the pontoon boats that you can rent if you're not part of a Magical Gathering. Also, the GG cruise has a "pirate" captain that tells jokes, hands out prizes to the kids, etc. and the music for "Wishes" is also piped onto the boat, not sure about the pontoon boats. With the GG event you also get a dessert reception before the cruise. Cost is about $30 per person I think. Hope that helps!
