We are driving to Orlando from Fort Lauderdale in a rental car. We plan to drop the car off at the car rental company at the airport. Are we able to use Magical Express to get us and our luggage to the resort although we haven’t taken a flight into Orlando International.

As long as you are staying at a Disney resort.

Disney doesn't care how you arrive at the airport. You're still entitled to a round-trip ride by being an on-property guest.

Yep, as long as your taking DME within the confines of your Disney resort reservation stay !

A) have you checked to see if it would cost substantially more to return the car much closer to WDW?
B) have you considered dropping of the rest of your party and all the luggage first, then having only the driver return the vehicle and use DME?
