Magical Express

This may be a silly question, but we are driving to WDW. However, the day we leave, I am flying to Chicago for a wedding and my DH and kids are driving home. Can I use ME to get to the airport? I have an early flight and don't want my family to get up early if they don't have to. Thanks!

There should be no issue. You'll need to call DME to add your flight info.

As long as you're staying at a WDW resort, you just call DME and add the flight info and they'll set it up for you

Sure! If I understand you right, this is similar to what we did just a few years ago. DH and I got there by car. But then he left earlier than me, so I could have a few extra solo days, and I had no transportation. I didn't have any trouble using Magical Express to get back to the airport. We've also done the reverse, where I've flown in earlier, then DH arrives a few days later by car. In that case, the only "problem" (not a big one)is that they point out that you don't have return reservations and offer to make return Magical Express reservations for you.

When you check in, You can also just ask your resort to call magical express for your departure. They will handle it

A few things to remember when you do this, ME will pick you up 3 hours before your flight and if you wait until you are at the hotel to make the ME reservation make sure you have a ME ticket. A few years ago I added an extra day and had the front desk make my ME reservation for the next day. I was given a confirmation number but I didn't have a ticket. When the bus arrived the driver wouldn't let me on with just the confirmation number. I had to run to the luggage/airport check-in and have them print me a ticket. It wasn't busy so it only took a few minutes and the bus was actually still loading guest so I made that bus. Have fun!!

We do this often, flying in separately, only 1 flying etc. They now add this to your Magic Band, so the ticketing isn't much of an issue, but you do need to call ahead. When leaving, they often drop off your time at your room door the day before. Have a GREAT trip!!!
