We arrive at 3PM on Sunday, June 2nd and have 530 reservations at Chef Mickeys. Would you chance it and take the DME or will we be cutting it to close? We are staying at the AofA. We will have to take a bus to the TTC or one of the parks and then catch the monorail so this will also be time consuming. Do you think we can make it?

Cutting it really close. It usually takes about 2 hours to get from airport to resort and checked in. You could also take a bus to MK and walk over it only takes a couple of minutes to walk over.

WAY too close. Although you land at 3:00 you have to taxi to the gate. Wait for everyone ahead of you to get off the plane.. Make your way to the DME so right there is a good 30 minutes. . And that is if your flight is on time

Then travel to you resort and check in then make your way to dinner

I agree it's close, but the "usual" amount of time from walking off the plane to resort is 80 minutes.

So, land @ 3:00, off plane by 3:15, @ resort 4:45, checked in by 5. Now to get to CR, using Disney Transportation, you MAY make it by 5:30, but I wouldn't count on it. If EVERYTHING (including your flight) goes EXACTLY on schedule, you'd probably make it. However, any one thing delaying you and you're in trouble.

BTW, your best (quickest) bet would be bus to MK, then walk to CR.

If you arrange for a towncar/taxi, you won't save much time because now you now need to wait for your luggage.

If you get a rental, you can at least go straight to CR if need be. If you have time, you can check in first.

I have no clue if this is allowable, but could OP take ME directly to CR?

Not allowed.

I would say this is too tight with or without DME unless you just want to take a cab or car service directly from the airport to the CR.

We plan to just have carry on luggage so I think our best bet is to hire a town car. And cross our fingers.

Any chance of changing your reservation for another night?

If your plane is late, you're out the cancellation fee pp, which adds up quickly.

What time of year are you travelling? Afternoon thunder storms often cause delays in flights arriving or departing MCO.

Lastly, even if all the stars align you're cutting it very close.

Probably the best idea. Are you planning on going to AoA via a car service and checking in or going to CR directly?
If you land at 3, you should be at AoA by 4-4:15 using a car service. Check in, then head to MK, via the MK bus, and walk over to the CR, via the walkway (takes under 10 mins)

I always recommend that you make no ADR for up to 6 hrs after anticipated landing. Way too many things can go wrong!!!

I agree, you can't be sure your flight will land on time in the first place. With cancellation fees, I would not take the chance.

We used to do Chef Mickey's on our arrival night but I won't chance it now. I would try to change it to another day.

Side note: Half of our party arrives at WDW for noon and will definitely be able to arrive at Chef Mickeys on time. Can they check us in or does the whole party have to be at the restaurant?

I'm pretty sure they won't seat you unless everyone is there.

You will all need to be present to be seated, but this will benefit you in one of two ways. If you are running a few minutes late, the others in your party will have at least checked in which will buy you about 10-20 minutes. And if you are very delayed and can not make it at all, as long as its only one ADR, it won't count as a no-show and you won't be charged.

It is just one ADR so we should be okay. Hopefully we will all make it and get to enjoy dinner together. Thanks for all of the advice and suggestions.

Just a reminder that if you are planning to take a bus to your hotel after dinner, Disney does not allow luggage even carry on bags on their buses. So hopefully someone else in your party has a car and can take you to your resort. Or your other option is to take a cab to your resort

We are planning to take the town car to our resort and then get dropped off at Chef Mickeys so we will not have our luggage at dinner. Hopefully it will all work out!

I assume that you have discussed this with the towncar people. That is not a normal occurrence.

I think you'll need to be very lucky in order to make it, but make sure you call the town car company and ask them if they'll do this because they generally won't.
