Magical Express

Going to Disney in July and taking the Magical Express for the first time. Our flight is due to arrive in Orlando at 12:30PM. We are staying at Pop Century. Can someone give me an idea of what time we would arrive at Pop? We were planning on going to Epcot this day with reservations for dinner at 6:45PM but are now wondering if we get to the hotel too late will this be a wasted park day?

Assume that it could take up to 90 minutes from when you get off the plane until you reach your resort, but the average is closer to 70 minutes. That's if you have carry-on bags only or if you use the DME luggage transfer service. If you plan to stop at baggage claim to collect your bags before heading to the DME bus you should add another 20 minutes or so to those times.

We are going in June and using ME for the first time as well. We are also staying at Pop and arriving at 11:51am. I made this an out of park day because I was concerned it would be a wasted day. We have never stayed at Pop before so I wanted time for us to look around and get acquainted with the resort.

I have had times between 50 and 90 mins with DME...gate to resort. At all times of the year. My average is about 70 mins. But for planning puposes, figure on it taking you 90 mins from gate to resort checkin. That way, if it takes less than that, you'll be thrilled.

I think with the preceding information you will be fine spending the late afternoon and evening in Epcot. When you get into the park i would pick up a fastpass for TT or Soarin or Norway or Mexico depending on what you like and maybe do a tour or see a movie in one of the pavillions on World Showcase.

I wouldn't pick up your bags. But if you need to change into shorts for example for the park put those things in your carry on.
