Hey everyone, I had a few questions about the ME. I'm aware that we get our luggage tags for our hotel weeks before the trip but do we get anything else thats "disney magic" to prepare us for the trip like special luggage tags for our names/address, etc, or anything else special?? Let me know, my trip isn't until May but I'm getting excited already!!!!

2007-WL
2006-ASMo-spring break!!
2005-WL
2003-WL
2000-Poly/Dix Land
2001-Disneyland!!
1998-PO-French
1996-PO-french
1994-PO-french
1992-PO-french
etc.!!

You get the luggage tags and the book with information and your flight info.
that you show when you get to the ME desk at the airport. That's it. ENJOY!

sometimes with packages they will include some coupons for a free pin or vouchers for food(Planet Hollywood was the last).

But thats it.

You might also get a nicer permenent luggage tag with the rest of your ressie paperwork as well.I really miss them as we now only do DVC or room only trips. So we just purchased some nice DVC ones.

We leave on April 2nd, when should we expect the paperwork for Magical Express?

It says online you should recieve your package no later than 2 weeks before the trip and if not you should call disney asap so you can get your tags in time.

I booked through AAA and I received some souvenier luggage tags. Not just the long yellow ones that you put on your bag, but the permanent ones that you can keep on there indetifying your name and address should your bag get lost.

But I think that was it.....

I would say if you dont get them 2 weeks before your trip, you should call AAA and see if they can help you if you booked through them and they will prolly overnight the info.

We never received our info and tags. I called and what we had to do was get our own luggage from baggage claim and bring it to the ME counter at the airport. They gave us some paperwork but we had to stand in line for the bus with our luggage. They did deliver it to our room once we got to the resort. Leaving the resort was another story. We checked our luggage at the resort and then waited for our bus. Apparently the luggage doesn't go with any particular bus to the airport. My luggage made it home but my sister's didn't. I wasn't impressed with ME as it seemed to take more time than it did when we have rented a car on other visits. To each his own though. I have heard mostly good things about ME, we just weren't impressed.

Oh, sorry for the confusion with my post :) I got everything about 2 weeks before we left (we went at the end of January). I just meant to add that we also got souveneir luggage tags in addition to everything else everyone listed in previous posts.

They may have streamlined the process some since you went (not sure when you were there) but we really didn't have any problems. There was only one issue that really "irked" me :headache:

We landed in Orlando at midnight and we got to the bus at about 12:30 a.m. and there were 5 other people on the bus when we got on. My husband and I were the last ones on the bus. We sat there for 15 minutes and the bus driver came on and said "Sorry but I can't control when we leave. But you can say something inside." My husband laughed and said "Don't encourage me to start trouble" because he thought the guy was just making a passing comment so that my husband and I wouldn't get mad at him and was a subtle way of saying we could go inside if we wanted to complain. We then waited another 20 minutes just sitting there. Finally the driver went inside and talked to one of the reps inside and came out and said that we would be leaving soon. The lady inside then came out and apologized and said we could go.

Everyone has to send in their flight times and hotel destinations. They have to know how many people are going to be on each bus. I think the driver was trying to tell us that he couldn't say anything but we could go ask why we were waiting. But since my husband didn't say anything and we had been sitting there for over 30 mintues the driver finally went and asked. I think the reps inside were not doing their job. And so we sat there over 30 minutes for no reason and we ended up not getting to out hotel until 1:30 a.m. Part of why I was irritated was because I was so tired, but still that was uncalled for. It's the slow season and it was after midnight. There wasn't a delay because of how busy they were but because they were not paying attention.

Again, I think part of it was just that I was so tired! We still had a great trip! And the fact that we could check our bags and get our boarding pass at the hotel was great. We dropped off our bags at the hotel at 9:00 a.m. and got our boarding passes and were told to come back at 3:00 p.m. So we enjoyed our last 1/2 day at the MK, got our bus at 3:00 got dropped off at the airport and then picked up our bags in Cincinnati!

Sorry to hear you had troubles! I definitely think that if money wasn't an issue that a taxi would be much faster though. But I'd rather spend the money at the park or on good food! Yum!

The hard plastic souvenir luggage tags are from WDTC -- everyone who books a PACKAGE receives these.

The DME paperwork should be sent about 4-6 weeks prior to your trip.

If you have any questions about DME, you can call them directly at 866-599-0951. HOWEVER, if you have any specific questions about your reservation, wait until you are 60 or fewer days prior to your trip before calling DME. Before that, they won't have your reservation info in their database.

can Magical Express be used if you stay at a DVC resort? What about Swan/Dolphin (since its not run by Disney).

DVC yes no matter if owner or CRO, If renting then the member has to set it up for you.

S/D I don't think so but not 100% sure.

DME is only for guests staying at WDW owned-and-operated resorts. Since Swolfin aren't owned and operated by Disney, guests staying there are NOT eligible to use DME.

What sometimes confuses people is seeing DME buses occasionally pull up to one of them (Swan?). That's because swan(?) is a common resort for people doing a land/sea package, which includes transfers between port and resort. DME and Disney Cruise Line buses are owned and driven by the same sub-contractor, and at times they may use a DME bus for DCL runs or vice versa.
