magical express while renting a car??

I'll be travelling in Oct with my mom and 3 yo DS. Was planning on using the magical express and Disney transportation. My DH (who really dislikes the entire bus system) is trying to convince me to rent a car. My question is could we have Disney/Mag Express still transport our bags even if we choose to rent a car? The reason being we're going to have my son's carseat/possible stroller and I really don't want to deal with the bags. Even if we have to wait a little while for them at the hotel (POP) I'd be great to just get the car and go.

I can't imagine why you couldn't do it this way, unless it is like the airlines; you have to be with your bags. (From a security standpoint). I would give them a call to be sure.

With ME it's all or nothing if your bags get transported by Disney then so do the people that the bags belong too. You can't have it both ways.

Correct. Magical Express will not transport just your baggage without you too!

You could get around it by you riding the bus and your husband renting the car.

We plan on using ME to get to/from the airport and we are renting a car from the car care center on property. We will pick it up after we check in to our hotel and drop it off the day before we leave. This way, we won't have to pay for the extra night with a car (we are there just longer than a week) and we won't have to worry about tolls/directions/etc.

If you are flying on one of the partner airlines, you can check in at your resort for your return flight and check your bags through without taking the bus back to the airport.

National/Alamo is located at the Car care center near MK. They have a shuttle that will pick you up at your hotel and drive you back when you drop the car off.

A friend of mine used ME in May, just after it started, she had heard some things about bags getting to rooms at 1:30 am. so she was a little nervous about that. She was planning to rent a car anyway because she was to go visit her father afterwards. Her husband drove the rental car and took the luggage also so it wouldn't be late, and she and her kids took the ME bus. I don't know why she didn't just go with her husband. Maybe she just wanted a taste of Disney Magic ASAP.

Or you could use a Town Car Service instead of renting a car. They will help with your luggage and go straight to your hotel. It should be cheaper than renting a car.

I was planning on renting a car, and it will be 4 of us for 2 days and then there is another family of 3 joining us for 7 days, I am renting a minivan (Chevy Uplander or similar) We will be fine going to the parks and getting around while we are there but we will have some problems getting back to MCO with all 7 and luggage, not light packers at all. Can my wife and my friends wife take everyone and the luggage on ME, while I return the car to MCO, or should I return the car early to (Avis) Disney Hilton (DTD area I believe) and all use ME.

We will be using the car during trip to go to SeaWorld and to get around easier than taking buses with two infants.

DH and I are also saving $ by taking ME from MCO to our resort. We will pick up a rental car are the Car Care Center the day we arrive. We will be taking our luggage with us at the end of the trip and dropping the car off at MCO so that we can leave whenever we want. We are using National car rental and there is no extra charge for dropping off at the airport.
