so the master plan is to fly in a day before, and stay couple days after our cruise. Both before and after, the plan is to stay at a Disney resort at wdw. And to rent one way rentals to get ourselves to port and back for our cruise.

Ok...I know I can use disney's magical express to take us to wdw (the day before our cruise)...but can I use dme the next day (the day we check out and the day of our cruise) back to mco (where we will pick up our one way rental that we will drive ourselves to port), and use dme from mco on the day we disembark (we will have another one way rental from port to mco) to wdw?

Hope this makes sense! Trying to finalize all the little details. Thank you in advance! :flower:

Yes you can do that.

Some DME phone CMs can just be told "this is what I'm doing" for setting it up and they work it out for you. Some want you to have flight numbers etc. if I got the latter on the phone I might get off the phone politely and call back hoping for a better cm.

If you're using Alamo or national you might price it out from/to the car care center onsite at WDW. Or from the swan/dolphin. It will make things easier so you don't have to waste all that time using DME especially WDW to airport on embarkation day.

You could also check prices against using the DCL transportation (35 pp each way and you can use it just one way, and it either goes between resorts and Canaveral or MCO and Canaveral and the reverse of both). Depending on how many people are in your party and what your rental costs are, it might be better or it might be worse. Worth knowing.

Yes, you can do this because you will have two separate resort reservations - one for the night before the cruise and a second reservation for the post cruise stay. You are entitled to one round trip between MCO and DW during each reservation.

As bumbershoot posted, if you plan to rent from National or Alamo, they have rental sites at the Car Care Center and the Dolphin which could save you some time.

Last time we cruised, we had stayed at wdw several days before our cruise. And when pricing out one way car rentals, it was cheaper to rent from mco, vs disney's car rental care place. And we were dropped off at mco early by a family member who happened to be traveling w/us during our pre-cruise stay, but weren't going on the cruise w/us.

Anyways...thank you for your responses! Do you happen to know if we can pick our time for dme for our trip to mco on our cruise day? I just want to make sure I get to mco w/enough time to pick up the car and drive to port...

Again, thank you!! :flower:
