We went on the Disney cruise last year(2004) and had a wonderful time. We loved the fact that we never touched our luggage from the time we arrived at the airport to the time we disembarked the ship. So, when Disney offered the magical express, we decided to go back to spend more time in the parks. They never sent us our tags and when we called they said they were behind, but to go to a Disney rep at the airport and they would still handle it. Well, their idea of handling it was for us to claim our luggage and drap through the airport back to the rep., who then lead us through the airport again...on escalators, where a suitcase fell on top of me and then knocked my five year down. And once we arrived there the made us stand in yet another long line to get tickets to get on the bus and then had to stand in another long line for our resort. It took 2 hours to get from the airport to our resort. It was absolutely insane and I am very disappointed in Disney. I did complain to the check in clerk at our resort and I never even received an apology.

Sorry you had a disappointing experience. Our experience with Magical Express was fabulous.

Our plane landed in Orlando at 1:00 p.m. After departing the plane, we stopped at the Disney Store to buy my AP, and then found a Disney Rep. She told us where to go. We took our baggage claim tickets to the ME ticket counter and within 15 minutes we were all checked in, had 3 vouchers for a lanyard and a pin, and was sitting on the bus. We sat on the bus for about 5 minutes before departing. It was a Mears bus, not the Disney bus.

After a stop at the Contemporary, we arrived at the Polynesian right about 2:15 p.m. Our room was ready, we dropped off our carry-on luggage and headed to Epcot.

When we arrived back in the room later that night, there sat all of our luggage. Don't know what time it arrived, though.

What a way to start your trip. Sorry this happened - we didn't get our tags ahead of time either. When we landed we went to the Magic Express counter and they took our claim tags that were issued in NY. We got on the bus around 9:45AM and got to the hotel (Beach Club) about 11. My husband didn't think we would ever see our luggage again, but sure enough later that afternoon all our bags were in our room when we got back from Epcot. I'm surprised they made you claim your own bags. :confused3

Hope the rest of your trip didn't follow this pattern.

Here's hoping for more :wizard: next time.

I am really happy that you had a better experience than I did. We have been to Disney 4 times since 1999, so obviously We are big fans of Disney. I just can't believe the service we received this time. I even e-mailed Disney to let them know I was disappointed and no response. We spent half the week in Universal and that went much better!!! So, the vacation wasn't a total bust.
