Magical Express Routes Released!

they were told directly by US Air that they are not participating. They were told that no arrangments had been made with Disney for this service and there is no agreement to do this...so they don't know who to believe. They got a great low fare on SWA and are using a car service...the lower fare more than paid for their transportation.
Only time with tell with ME.

The airlines don't have to participate. The special luggage tag causes your luggage to bypass the baggage carousel. It doesn't have anything to do with the airline. It doesn't require airline participation for your ground arrangements FROM the airport. Think about it, the airline doesn't care how you get to your resort or who picks up your luggage. Disney has been doing the same thing with transfers for the cruise line.

Airline participation is required to check your bags and get your boarding pass in your resort. The airlines don't have anything to do with the outbound service and aren't in the position to answer any questions.

I wish people would stop posting misinformation.

claudia, the airline doesnt have to participate, they have nothing to do with it for the inbound luggage transfer. Disney sends a special luggage tag prior to departure. You put it on the luggage. The airline does its normal thing. when the baggage is on its way to the carousel, ME cast members grab the tagged luggage backstage and treansport it to the resort. It has NOTHING to do with the airline.

The only time participating airlines come into play is on the return. Only participating airlines have a "check in desk" at the resort lobby where you can check in for boarding passes and check your luggage as you would at the airport. If you dont have a participating airline you can still take the free bus back to the airport you just have to check in there.

Hope this helps clear up your concerns.

They are not participating in the return portion, the resort luggage check-in process for your return home.

Luggage with ME tags will be pulled and sent to the resort via truck for ALL DOMESTIC FLIGHTS regardless of which airline it arrives on.

It's been posted that international flights that pre-clear customs over seas will be able to have their luggage pulled, same as domestic flights.

Passengers who clear customs in MCO will, obviously, have to pick up their luggage to go through customs but won't have to pick it up a second time in, the main terminal, if you have the ME tags on your bags.

As Lewisc says, the ME service is available to guests of *all* airlines, and that includes international airlines. Airlines don't need to participate in anything - it's up to the Disney resort guest to tag his/her luggage properly with the special ME tags, that's all that's needed. The airlines don't need to know who pulls the luggage off the carousel, it doesn't matter to them.

The *only* involvement the airline has in ME is when it comes to a secondary service i.e. flight check in at resort instead of at the airport. Some airlines have partnered with Disney to allow this resort check-in so that's an additional benefit for those airline's customers but doesn't impact at all on the availability of ME and on the fact that your luggage will be brought to your resort for you from MCO.

Anyone doubting whether they can use ME or not (and whether their luggage will be collected at MCO for them or not) can go to www.disney.com - do a mock reservation search and when it comes to the Magical Express section you will be asked which airline you are using - you will see a list of hundreds of airlines to choose from - every airline in the world - and, in fact, the only reason they're even asking for your airline at that stage is so they can keep track of the time you're coming in.

Yup, I'll be in the black zone too! I stay at SSR. Just as a heads up, when I took the Mears bus to the airport from SSR on Friday, it didn't take too long at all and it did stop at the 4 resorts in the black zone.

Good to know it didn't take too long. Thanks! :)
