magical express question

We're traveling from abroad and going to universal first for a few days. Only on check out will we need the express to airport. If we were not booked ahead for the express csn we book on site? We'll be buying a full package including dining.

You must book Magical Express in advance, but yes, you can book a one way trip back to the airport from on site.

Leaving Disney, the deadline is normally morning of the day before the day you check out.

(Going to Disney, the deadline is normally 14 days in advance to get your yellow tags on time for delivery of bags to your room, but it can be done on shorter notice for trips booked on shorter notice.)

When you get to your WDW resort, just reserve your return DME ride then. They need about 24-36 hrs to process all requests, so do it at least 36hrs prior to your departure.
