We were originally booked to stay at the YC beginning Dec 3. We got our yellow tickets from ME with the YC on them. Then we switched to the Poly, same dates, same flight. We have not, as of yet, received yellow Poly tickets from ME. Just curious as to whether or not we will ? We received a confirmation letter and receipt from the Poly today. Any views ? Thanx.

I believe the bar code on the yellow tags will get your bags to the right resort. As long as no dates changed ,just the resort DME knows you changed.

Maybe someone else will reassure you .:goodvibes

You may or may not get new tags, but it is ok either way. The tags have a bar code that is tied to your ressie, the baggage handlers use that info to direct your bags. If you want you can use a sharpie to change YC to Poly, but DO NOT do anything to alter the bar code.

They do not automatically send them out a second time. If you switch resorts after the 45 day mark you need to call DME and request new tags. The phone number for DME is 866-599-0951. You have to call when you are 10 or more days out. They usually don't sent the booklets out again once you are less than 10 days.

Just cross out the Yacht Club on the tags and write in the new resort with the sharpie - this is just to prevent errors from those reading the tags. It is the bar code that is really important, not the writing on the tag. You will not need new tags.

If scanning the bar code on the yellow tag leads to a dead end or a bum steer, they will use hand written information on the tag to get your bag to you.

It won't be left at the airport awaiting further manual instructions.

As long as your reservation number has not changed, you're good to go. Double check on that...is the reservation number the same as it was for YC?? If it isn't, then the tags will do you no good. The tags were issued for the YC reservation number. But, if the number stayed the same, for the move to the Polynesian, then the info in the bar code will remain the same.

Thanx for all the advice gang. As it were, the reservation numbers were NOT the same. I used the advice of one of the pp and called ME (thanx for the number, by the way), and as of last night they were going to reprint our tickets and mail them out to us. If they do not arrive before we leave, all we need are our luggage claim tags and the reservation number, and the ME will retrieve the bags. So, thanx again for your help and advice !
