Ok, I have used ME lots of times so I know how it all works. But, I do have a question. If I book a trip and am leaving in two weeks (seriously) and there isn't enough time to book the ME and get all the materials in the mail, when I arrive at MCO, can I go to the ME counter and get signed up?

I may be making a quick trip over Labor Day weekend and I know I won't have time to get ME all set. If I go to the ME desk at MCO, will the ME take me to my resort? Will they schedule to pick me up on my departure day?

Anyone else have experience in this regard?
 
Disney will record ME in your reservation, you don't have to have the flights recorded or the booklet & tags sent. IIRC CRO has a cut off date though, so you might have to call ME directly with your WDW confo info if CRO can't add it. The ME info does need to be in their system in advance (as little as 24 hours in advance), so call ME directly as soon as you book your room or package. 1-866-599-0951.

You can just go the the ME Welcome Center and they'll print your ME voucher and ask for a description of your bags if you want ME to pull them. Otherwise you can collect your own baggage, then go to the ME Welcome desk to get the voucher and confirm your return flight information.
 
Call DME directly. Book your reservation with them. They will need your resort reservation number so have it handy. Give them any flight info you have...just makes it easier for your departure from WDW.
You won't be able to get your packet (of course, they could surprise you and get it out in time..they do say they need just 10 days), so just go down to the DME welcome area, and they will print out vouchers for you. You will want to get your own bags as well..they then go under your bus.

I booked a stay about 6 days prior to travel!!! SW had some incredible fares....and I got a terrific room rate at POP....just had to go. My DME packet was waiting for me when I got home!!! But, I just had them print me up the vouchers and off I went. Very easy.

This one bears repeating.
No. You may not show up at the Magical Express counter with no reservation.

DME can take reservations on short notice if your room was also booked on short notice. DME will at your option handle your bags even though you don't get the yellow tags on time to use them.

Especially if it is short notice, when calling to reserve DME (or for that matter reserving or booking or ordering or buying anything else over the phone, too) ask for and write down the name and city of the person you are talking to.

Usually you will make your reservation back to the airport upon arrival at the DME counter or upon arrival at your resort. If you don't get a written confirmation the morning before checkout, or if that is incorrect, go down to the front desk to get an updated confirmation that morning before checkout before you head for the parks.

I've added flight information the week before and they overnighted the ME tags to me. I would call as soon as you have the information.
