Here's a question: if you have a split party that will be joining up and sharing accomodations, is there anything special that has to be done with regard to Magical Express? The scenario is that we would arrive a couple days early, stay in a smaller room at a WDW resort, and then move to a larger room when the second half of our party arrived. I'm concerned about how the second half of the party would use the ME service from MCO if the reservations are under my name.

Thanks!

Even though the reservation is in your name, every person is named on the reservation. In other words, Disney knows everyone who'll be staying in their resort, and if they don't know you need to tell them.

As long as they're on the reservation, they can make DME reservations, or rather you can make the DME reservations for them. Include their actual arrival date, and DME will take care of them. The DME packet, which includes the DME luggage tags, will be mailed to YOU (or to your travel agent, if you used one), so you will need to get the luggage tags to the others in your party.

Now, regardless of the number of people you have, it sounds like you have two separate reservations, one for the smaller room and one for the larger room. If that's the case, then you will actually receive two DME packets, one for each reservation number. This is the result of a harmless computer glitch. For most people it's meaningless and the second packet should just be discarded, but for you it may actually be useful.

This gets complicated, but work with me here ....
One pieve of information on the DME luggage tags is the resort you are staying at, and thus the resort the luggage will be delivered to. YOU, for yourself, won't need the luggage tags labeled for the second resort, since DME won't be transporting your luggage from the airport to that resort. However, the stargglers in your party that will be staying ONLY at the larger room and not the smaller room, THOSE guests should use the tags for the second resort, since that's where THEIR luggage should be delivered.

Of course, if it's all at one resort and just a matter of a larger room, then ignore the above paragraph, and just toss the second set of DME stuff.

Have I confused you yet???:rolleyes1

What a great explanation -- you answered every question I had about our possible scenario. Thank you so much!
