Magical Express Question/Problem

I'm booked for the Magical Express the last week of May, and I did this before I knew exactly how it works, and now I have an issue. The problem is that I'm going with a friend from college who lives in a different city than I do, and we are meeting each other at MCO. Her flight arrives a half hour before mine, and the departing flight leaves a half hour after mine, so I booked the Magical Express under my flight times for two people since that was the only option. Since she is not really on my same flight, can she grab her luggage and bring it on the bus with her, or is this not allowed? I will get the tags in the mail them to her if necessary but even if I sent some to her, her flight is not in the system, so I'm not sure what to do. Thanks for any insight you can provide!

If your friend is arriving just a half hour before you, I would book her by herself. That way her bags get picked up, sent along to the resort. She should be able to just wait for you to arrive. I'm sure if she explains that when she arrives it wouldn't be a problem. Then when you leave you should be able to be on the same bus since they pick you up about 2 1/2 hrs. before your flight time. Your situation actually looks easier to resolve than some we've seen here!!! So, she should have her own reservation and luggage tags, and you have yours.

Can you book ME if you are flying standby? My cousin works for a airline and often gets my parents standby tickets. They are going to meet us at the resort but it would be nice if I didn't have to pay Mears for them.

People will be carrying luggage (plane carry-on luggage) to the Magical Express bus all the time.

I would say there are no problems with fetching luggage from the carousel and carrying it to the Magical Express bus. Except if the checked luggage or gate checked luggage gets mislaid, your friend would have to stay at the airport to resolve that issue, and miss the bus. (If she holds her own ME reservation she can take a later ME bus).

Just put the ME tags on the luggage. I think you may be to lie and give Disney flight information to sign you up. People miss their flights or get bumped all the time. I wouldn't worry about getting to MCO on a later flight.

I would get her to get her own tags sent. There could be a problem if the info on the tags somehow doesn't match up with the flight information. She could either wait for you at the airport or wait for you at the resort.

Did you ask Disney? I would pose the question to them as how best to handle. Your other option is to just wait by your friend's gate for her to get off the plane and just head down together.
