Magical Express Q w/ twist

I'm signed up for Magical Express for Sept. 28th. However, I couldn't get the flight I wanted on SouthWest and booked the 10 am - 9/28. From reading this board the last few days, I realize I can probably change my flight on SW to the night before w/o penatly SO my question is:

If I change my flight to the night before (Wed, 9/27) which departs at 8:45 pm arriving 11:20 pm MCO and am staying at a different resort for just that one night...

Can I ship all our luggage to the final destination resort or would it just be to confusing?[/COLOR]

It seems silly to send it to Boardwalk for one night as it probably wouldn't be sent up to us until the morning anyway and then have them ship it over to Port Orleans where we will be staying the next 5 nights w/ friends.

PS - it will be our first time using ME -- any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Maureen

Be sure you call DME and make the changes to your reservation. Your tags should say BW, otherwise they just arn't going to get to you. Having them at BW for just the one night isn't a huge issue. Pack what you need for the overnight in one smallish bag. Then, call Bell Services the morning you are to move to POR...call early in the morning. They will come to your room and take your luggage away to move over to POR. Just be aware that you won't have your bags until late that afternoon. It's a good service, just not fast!!!

I tried something similar , Disney won't allow it. In order to use DME you must use it to a disney resort on the same date as your arrival flight and check in of the resort.

I wanted to fly in on a friday night stay at airport hotel ( meeting family Sat AM at airport) and take DME Sat , nope . I could use it if I stayed at Disney Friday night but then would have to find my own way to the airport on saturday r/t . They also would not let my luggage go through so I wouldn't have to worry about that but again was told this is not allowed.

The first thing you should be aware of is they stop handling luggage for arrivals past 11:00PM. You'll need to grab them yourself. An agent at Small World vacations suggested not leaving them overnight (I was in the same dillema).

Secondly, I think WDW will move your luggage from one resort to another. Call and check.

Thanks all.

I had a feeling it couldn't be done but curiosity got the best of me!

CVS2kids: Are you telling me if we take the late flight into MCO, we'll have to actually get our luggage from baggage claim with ME past 11 pm? Or is it Disney resorts that stop handling them past 11 pm? If we switch to the late night flight, I'll pack whatever we need for a day in a smaller bag as I figured we would not get the luggage until the morning anyway. If so, I'll just have the Boardwalk send our luggage the next morning directly to POR instead of up to room. Does this sound right?

Now to decide whether to go for the late night flight and have the whole next day or stick to the 10 am and blow 1/2 the day. :hourglass -- decisions, decisions!

My impression was ME will not get them until morning. I decided on an earlier flight, so I didn't follow-up past that. I would call ME helpline and double check to see if luggage would be left in a secure area overnight by MCO staff.

Wow, that's interesting. I will call the Magical Express people and find out. Guess it wouldn't be a huge deal but I was really looking forward to avoiding that baggage claim for once. Oh well!

Have a nice day.

TinkFan I would call ME since I was told something different. I was told if we arrived late our luggage would be shipped to the resort as usual. But it wouldn't get delivered to our room until the morning the resort won't deliver luggage in the middle of the night. We didn't have to go to baggage claim.

For some reason while at work this afternoon I decided to go on SW and look at flights again.

The flight I originally wanted was NOW AVAILABLE and I was able to switch from the 10 am to the 7:05 am out of Islip for the same price. GReat NeWs, huh! :rotfl: Solves the whole issue of flying out the night before and the luggage problems.

Now, I didn't actually get to call Disney but someone at work also thought they would send luggage to resort but wouldn't deliver until the morning, which would have been fine with us anyway. Wasn't to keen on leaving it at the airport overnight if that was the case.

Have a great weekend. :goodvibes
