Magical Express Luggage Tags

How long before a trip do they send the Magical Express luggage tags?How do they know how many luggage tags to send?Thanks. :)
 
From what I have read here, people are getting there tags about 18 days before their departure date. I can't help with how many tags you get though!
 
Hi! We received ours 21 days before our departure date. Some people get them earlier or later than that from what I have read here on the Dis. We got two tags for each person on our package. I hope that this is helpful information! :goodvibes
 
Sorry to hijack, but what happens if you decide to use DME at the last minute? As in, you call 8 days in advance because you decided to use it? Can you still use it? Or is all lost?

Do you get 2 tags for each person that has a plane ticket, or for who is in the room? Reason I ask is that our DD who is 17 months old, will have a plane ticket , but Disney policy dosen't "count her" as a person on the room or for park tickets. However because she is a girl, she will have lots of luggage :goodvibes
 
I received 2 tags for each person about 24 days out. My DS(21months) doesn't have a plane ticket but he is listed on my WDW Travel Company Reservations.

He wasn't listed when I first made reservations, but when I made changes in September the CM added him.
 
We're leaving in 21 days exactly. I haven't received my tags yet. :( When I bought my MVMCP tickets last month, I had the person check to make sure my ME info was listed there. They assured me it was. I'm so worried about this. I guess I'll give it until tomorrow's (Saturdays) mail and if it's not here, I'll call and ask what's going on.

I'll post back if it comes in today's or tomorrow's mail (Friday or Saturday).

I got my ME tags yesterday, and we are leaving on Thanksgiving. They've only known about it for 7 months. ;) We received 8 tags per book, regardless of how many people are traveling. Our party has 7 in it, and one book for 3 people had 8 tags, and the other book for 4 people had 8 tags. That turns out to be 2 tags per person, plus two extra tags. Be patient, it will show up! :)
 
We got ours exactly 3 weeks before we leave. There are 5 of us in total including a 2yo and an 11mo who has a seat. The voucher only lists Myself, DH and our 4yo. We received 8 luggage tags.

we have recieved ours but mil has not, we are going at the same time????
 
I am leaving in Dec 9th and have not received my tags yet! If they don't come by late next week then I will call. When I went in June I didn't receive my tags until the day before I left!
 
I posted a couple of posts up, well mil got her tags today!! and she booked her room/dme thru travelocity!!
 
12 days to go and no tags. Booked in August
 
I got our tags yesterday 21 days out....very pleased when we went in June they arrived less than 12 hrs before our plane left by then I'd booked alternate transportation.....3 wks from today I'll be at CP!!!! :cool1: :cool1:
 
1 st you don't need tags but they help .If you go to ME desk at MCO and tell them you didn't get or lost your tags they will take your luggage tags from airline and do a manual pull for you .You just get on the bus as you would if you had your tags (they pull these before they hit the baggage carosel).
YOU MUST STILL BE REGISTERED WITH ME .
Now I'm not sure about the infants ( I would call ) but you must be on room ressie to get into the bus.

Also ME is ran by MEARS for Disney not Disney so when you call CRO or MS all they are doing is checking the Ressie to see if it's updated not ME as that would require a call to ME that you could do yourself .

It's not entirely accurate that DME is run by Mears. Mears does the driving. They have nothing to do with the luggage aspect, and I think I remember reading that Mears does NOT handle the dispatching of the buses, etc., that they handle only the driving of the buses. If that's true, then Disney or another subcontractor actually RUNS the operation, if you know what I mean. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

This might be correct but I was told by Cm at WDT about mears and phone # and that all they do is check the ressie info and call that # as well if it doesn't seem to be updating on their system.

This could be like Dining as well everything on a different system that can be seen buy others but not changed.
