Possible scenario:
# 1. Will fly BUF-MCO, then take Magical express to WDW . Stay at WDW 10 days

# 2. Take Magical Express back to MCO and rent a car and go to the beach for a week

# 3. Drive rental back to Tampa and fly home from there

Is #2 an option since I won't have a flight the day I go back to MCO, just want to get back there so I can get a rental car. I may rent from Disney car care centre, but would like to have the option of renting from a rental place at MCO also (the more rental agencies I can choose from, the better price I might get). I am looking at a very expensive week (Christmas week, 2006) so I just want to have as many options available as possible.

Any thoughts on whether Disney will let me do this (take Magical Express back to MCO although I don't have a flight home that day?

I don;t see why you would want ot go back to the airport at all. You can rent from Alamo or National right on site, either at the Dolphin or at the Car Care Center; they will come pick you up from your resort for the latter. So I'd avoid schellping your family and all of your luggage out to the airport just to rent a car. Far better for just you to hop a shuttle, get a car, come back to the resort, then pack up and drive off to the next portion of your vacation.

I agree with pumpkinboy. You will have either National or Alamo to choose from onsite or if you want more companies to choose from, there are other agencies in certain hotels in Downtown Disney. I am not sure of which agencies are in Downtown Disney; I think Budget is one. If you go to each rental companies website you should be able to do a search for locations. I think it would be easier than going all the way back to the airport.

Agree'd with the others. One other thought, it's probably going to cost most to fly home from TPA, roundtrip tickets are almost always less expensive, and round trip means you'd fly back from MCO.

It's only about a 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive from TPA to MCO, I'd just drive back to save the cash.

OP said he wanted the option of going to the airport to possibly get better rental car rates. Some of the agencies are in the DTD hotels you might also check there.

Since Magical Express hasn't started yet we don't know if they'll be collecting vouchers, checking your name on a list or if you'll just board the bus. I guess if someone was determined they could book a fully refundable airline ticket but I do agree with the previous posters. Just keep checking your rental rates.

NO this is simple....DME only for use from MCO to WDW resort and from WDW to MCO....you will not see your luggage from checkin at airprot and arrivel at resort and in reverse....there is no way to have luggage on bus while in transport.
