If I book a Disney room and my air is booked separate from Disney and I don't want to buy park tickets, can I qualify for ME?

I'm not sure what qualifies for a package for ME or if I need a package to use ME. Room and air to me are a package. I want to book with AAA and get the best air tic costs. I think AAA will do the air tics separately from the room and not through Disney. Will that mess up ME priveleges?

Anyone staying at a WDW Resort qualifies for DME. You don't need a package, room only is fine. When you book your room the CM will usually ask you if you want the complimentary DME service, if they don't, just tell them you want DME and they will book it with the room reservation. Even though its free you do need a reservation in advance.

Note that if you made your room reservation through a travel agent, that travel agent has to arrange the Magical Express for you. If they haven't succeeded and it is less than a week before you go, then go ahead and call and try to arrange it yourself.

Nothing can mess up DME privileges. If you are named on a WDW resort reservation and you want to travel between Orlando International Airport and that resort (one way or both ways), then you qualify.

DME is tied into resort reservations, not ticket purchases or airline reservations. Therefore, the resort reservation is all you need.

Room-only versus package, Disney air versus air on your own, park tickets or not ... none of it matters one bit regarding DME.

A TA can sure try. Give customers wrong information. Forget to forward DME tags. Forget to make DME reservation. Refuse to follow up.
