I've searched for an answer for this question but can't find one.
We will arriving to MCO from the St. Thomas airport in the USVI's. We don't live there ,we will be coming from our first week on vacation in St. John. Does anyone know if I can use the magical express tags to check my luggage through to the resort? I don't want to end up leaving my luggage at the Orlando airport but I would like to use the service if possible. Thank You , I'm hoping someone who lives there or who has done this before can help.

If you're clearing customs in Orlando, you would exit the plane, collect you bags at the customs area carrousel, clear though customs, then return your yellow tagged bags to the luggage carrousel, head to the DME Welcome Center, (side B, 1st floor). If you're clearing customs elsewhere, then the yellow tagged bags would automatically go to their sorting center from the airplane.

St. Thomas is American soil. Do you even need to go to customs once you land in FL?
I've been there but it was on a cruise that went to other non-US islands as well so we had to go through customs. I would ask Disney if you can use yellow luggage tags.

You clear US Customs at STT. You are in possession of all of your bags throughout the process and then turn over checked bags to baggage handlers. We always rent a car in WDW, so have never used Magical Express, but there should be no problems.

Thanks for the replies! Sounds like we will be fine using the tags. Appreciate the responses.

There is no customs or immigration between the US Mainland and St John or St. Thomas, as they are considered American soil. It's the same as Puerto Rico.
