While we are at Disney, my Dad would like to take my Mom out for a meal, and has asked me to get some advice as to which venue would be the most "magical" :)

The first prize, would be this: A restaurant, with a view of Cinderella's Castle - and he would LOVE it if they were able to watch the fireworks while they are dining.. It's a lot to ask and I'm not sure if there is a venue that could offer that view, but if there is, I know that someone on the Dis will be able to give me that information :)

Thanking you in advance for any help you can give me :worship:

I would say California Grill. Great food, Great view, Great Atmosphere :thumbsup2

I second that. V&A is good too, but CA would be my choice.

In the parks maybe Bistro de Paris in Epcot. None of these options are inexpensive but they're all good.

Yes, I agree California Grill in the Contemporary. It is located at the top of the hotel, and the food is great! The view is spectacular and you can watch the fireworks, and get a great view of MK and the castle. If you want to watch the fireworks while dining then you need to time your ADR to the right time to see the MK firework show. This would be a special place for him to take her!;)

California Grill fits all of your dad's wishes.

I would recommend Narcoosee's. You can see Wishes and they pump in the music. Also, the electrical water pageant passes by the water that surrounds the restaurant.

This was my first thought too. I ate at both California Grill and Narcoosee during my trip this past May and MUCH preferred Narcoosee. You can see the Electrical Water Pageant, plus Wishes, and plus you can take your time and wander around the Grand Floridian prior to dining and listen to the live music in the lobby, then after dinner wander along the beach.

I've got to say California Grill. While Narcoosee is delicious- it doesn't feel disney to me. It feels like a great restaurant. It is where we go to get away from it all.
California Grill has a FANTASTIC view- We ate and watched the castle. The food was delicious- The fish is killer here. We loved it all.
Narcoosee is great but I don't think you can compare the views. Ground level vs. 14th floor! Looking out over the kingdom. And they also have observation decks that you can go out onto- They provide a fantastic view.

For all he wants I vote California Grill!!

I guess the ultimate view would be a fireworks cruise!

We did one for a family member's birthday and had dinner, a cake, and watched the fireworks from a boat on the lake off of the Poly - it was a really big WOW! for the kids, and I imagine very romantic without kids!

I hate to rain on the parade. But your trip is two months away. Any restaurant that will provide a fireworks view over the castle was booked months ago - as were fireworks cruises.

You may get an early seating at either Narcoosees or California Grill. Both provide (at some tables) views of the Magic Kingdom. California Grill will let you watch wishes from the deck if you come back with your dinner receipt. From Narcoosees, you can watch from the beach.

I think it is always worth checking back for cancellations - I know I've benefited from that!

Besides, at the California Grill you can't guarantee a view of the fireworks, but they'll let you go out on the catwalk and watch them even if you have to return to the restaurant to do it. Like, if you finish dinner at 7:00 you can return with your check and they'll let you up their that night later on to watch the fireworks.

I have very often gotten the California Grill at short notice .

What about Ohana at the Poly?

Many of the tables have a wonderful view of the castle and you can watch the fireworks from there, the Tambu lounge (right next to it) or from the beach.

i agree, you need to call and make some dining reservations now! Hopefully it is not too late to get them. I would call the dining line today and make all of your dining plans if you have not yet done so........the number is 1-407-WDW-DINE. I hope it all works out for you!
