MAGICal Christmas 2008 - December 20, 2008

Hi everybody! Haven't been on in a while, just got done with 5 nights of work! I have the next 3 nights off, Thank God:worship: .

Are we going to be doing the family "business card"? I loved them on the last cruise (great for the memory book;) ). Morgan used them to find the other girls and call them in their staterooms. They are really easy to make and take almost no time to print out enough for our group!! You just have to create your design and get the business cards for your printer. DH got it from Office Max when he bought our magnetic paper for our door designs. We then passed them out at the initial meet and greet!

What a cool idea! We will definately do this. I am getting sooo pumped. DH talks about teh cruise all the time. And he is not the type to get all gushy like me!!!

I haven't even thought about door magnets yet! Yikes! I have some business cards for the printer, so I'll definitely do those for us and have them to pass out at the Meet.

I can't believe we are now officially less than two months away. Time is slipping by fast. We have yet to get our Halloween box out of the closet - I need to do that today or the boys won't get to decorate outside or even know if they have enough of something to make a costume. It's on Friday this year which is nice, though, so they can stay up late.

Work is slammin' for the next 3 weeks at least. My next "make it to" goal is Veteran's Day - and after that, Thanksgiving, and then full-on-preparation for the cruise. I really need a couple of days to be home with no errands or anything - just be home and do stuff around the house. But that's not gonna happen for a while.

What do you put on the Family business cards? Are they only for use on the ship? Do you include ages? Do you include home e-mail for future contact? Let me know what the norm is so we can comply. Thanks!

I cannot believe we are at the 2 month mark!!!!! I can't wait!:woohoo:

Hi Denise! What we did last year, as well as the other families, was put our names and stateroom numbers on the card.

It went something like: The Reeves:
Rick
Shannon
Morgan
Mitchell
Melissa

Stateroom# 7004 and 7006

Rick designed it so it had miniature size pictures of Mickey around our information all done in the classic DCL colors of red, black, and yellow. He also put our family picture beside our names. It was all on a business card and we passed them out at the initial meet and greet. You could add anything you wanted to on your card, as long as it fits;)

It is sooo hard not knowing our stateroom.

We are also still waiting to see if someone cancels a WDW reservation for over New Years. Because of the expense of the cruise we need a value or moderate. I keep checking every single day!

I am getting concerned about air fare the longer we wait, but we really want to be a Magic Kingdom for NYE.

I was wondering what the best dolphin excursion is? My daughter (10) loves dolphins. She wants to study dolphins and whales - combine her acting and perform at sea world with dolphins/whales/sea lions. This has been her dream that started at 2. She has swam with the dolphins in San Diego and the Belugas at Orland Sea World. This summer she went to summer camp at Sea World and Busch Gardens. Once she completes her open water, she will be scuba certified.

Any recommendation for dolphin encounters?

Several of us are doing a Dolphin Encounter at the Chanakaab Park (Dolphin Discovery, I think). The other Dolphin place in Cozumel also has good reviews (Dolphinarius or something like that).

Thanks! I will look into them. Have you ever went before?

not me. I have done the dune buggy thing. Not really worth it. My sister Katie and family is doing it on Cozumel.

**** by the way... Ginny got back to you about fish extenders.
Susan

yes - thank you. I sent her the information that she requested. I am not very picky! Now DD that is a different story - at 10 she is anti pink, anti princess, anti girlie girl. DH says it is my fault because I always had ro have her dressed up in cute clothes with matching hair ribbons and shoes. I loved dressing her up.

Hello All!
Getting Exited about the Upcoming cruise!
My Wife Michelle Just finished Sewing 2 Beautifull Fish Extenders.
Now we are in the process of decorating them.:wizard:

We have never done this before so we would appreciate some guideance in the type of FE Gifts we could bring to leave on other FE's.
How many per cabin? How Many different ones? What kind of things are typical as gifts?:teacher:

Secondly, Is anybody Organizing the Secret Santa? :santa:
DO we do the Kids? Kids and Adults? Per cabin? When would we select out Secret person/Cabin???
If so What is a gift Price range? Typical Gifts?

Thanks
Ed, Michelle, David(13) Sophia(10)

Anything goes with the FE gifts. Things we've gotten in the past: pens, pencils, notepads, tatoos, mini memo boards, nail polish, unique items from where people come from--like if I lived in PA, I might give Hershey kisses. Some gifts are 1 per stateroom, some 1 per person, sometimes we've just gotten stuff for the kids like jacks, bubbles or a paddleball thing.

I'd be open to doing a Kids Secret Santa. I can't remember if I signed up for either, but I think the girls would love something like this.

Oh my - we were nearly on page 3. I hate this lull period before the frenzy of getting ready to go.

55 days until we leave for wdw and 58 until our cruise sets sail!
 :dance3:

Robin

COLD here in Maryland - heat is on! DS (8) is going to be Indiana Jones for Halloween and DD (6) is going to be a pretty witch!
The kids are doing their countdown to WDW - and we've begun to think of what we want to see at DHS, MK and EPCOT since we only have 2 days of park time before we set sail! :yay: I can't WAIT for that first drink of the day!:drinking1

We are so excited. Every day, I count down.

I work crazy crazy hours. Seven days a week, never take much of a break.

I am soooo looking forward to being away from everything. I only have a little work to do the first two days, but then I a, free :cool1:
